99% of mavfans here have already hinted that if Mavs lose it's cause they're tired and it's a back-to-back. But we all know that if mavs win, they will talk shit nonstop regardless about how great the mavs are and how much Spurs are in trouble.
Bullshit! If they are supposed to be the next champs back-to-back shouldn't matter, plus they are 7-0 in back to backs. they have no excuse
So mavfans if your mavies lose tonight DO NOT bring up that excuse. If you do, you'all a bunch of pussies...

There are No excuses, just the ones the Spurs fans keep bringing up after losing to the Mavs last year. 3 Rings this and 3 Rings that, at least the Rockets had enough balls to win Back To Back in Texas. Mavs Fans have nothing to be ashamed of seeing how long it took the Spurs to win their first, that includes when the Spurs were in Big D as the Chaparrals.

No organization has won more titles than the 16-time World Champion Boston Celtics. Whether it's the Green's first title in 1957, their 12th in 1974 or the 16th in 1986
Ouch, twenty years ago.

7-0? Wow
So both teams have streaks to keep alive to tonight.
Dallas has 1) a 12W streak and 2) 7W B2B streak to protect.
San Antonio has 2L streak to protect.
Will Spurs breaks Mavs' streaks, or will Mavs hand the winless Spurs their first W of 2007?
The way the feckless, bored Spurs are playing,
the Spurs won't have much say in the outcome.
Either the Mavs beat the Spurs or the Mavs beat themselves. :lol

Mr. Body 20 years sounds like a long time, I know. It averages out to be 1 every 3 years. I'll take it, 16 shouldn't be to hard for the old Spurs now. After all the Celts are letting all other NBA teams have a shot. :)

You kinda just insulted your own team. :lol
If they lose tonight, I won't blame it on the back to back. I'll blame it on the refs!

who cares who wins or loses tonight ?, gimme the wins on the playoffs WHEN THEY MATTER !!.
That being said, IF we lose tonight we're still ahead of you and still have the best record in the league, so it's not like it matters much. Same if we win, we'll be head for 4 games, which you can still make up in the young season.

If someone is stating a prediction about a matchup, there's nothing wrong with using some facts to come up with the winner and not just basing your entire decision on your favorite team. I will be rooting for the Mavericks but it wouldn't surprise me if they win OR lose so I'm not going to get pissed off this time around if they lose, it's not an excuse. Besides, lots of Spurs fans on here are already throwing in the towel just because the Spurs had a couple of shitty games, go after them as well. And hell yes, if the Mavs win, I will be damn proud and I do think the Spurs are f*cked a bit because they should be so pissed off and have some motivation to get out and have a big game.
BTW, I guess all those Spurs fans who root for their championship team are a bunch of pussies for not being surprised that their team lost on all those BTBs.
Of course, like LEONARD said, all this doesn't matter, it's just extra fun until the playoffs.

This kid was probably still being breastfed when the Celtics won their championship, if alive at all.

Knowing these huge games, the refs will probably screw someone tonight, Mavs or Spurs... or both. As the level of play rises the officials get scared and bury their heads in the sand. Or something that smells a lot worse.
Let's forget about the officiating (I know, I know, I brought it up) for a night and just hope our teams give 100%.

It's not an excuse. I just don't expect the mavs to win this game. The odds are against them. The mavs are bound to have a cold game while the spurs hardly ever lose 3 in a row. Also the game is in San Antonio. This game means more to the spurs than to the mavs.

We all know the only acceptable reasons for a loss are a foreigner's stupidity or the coach being a jackass.

I see what you're saying, and it makes sense.
By the same token, this would be a huge win for the Mavs to put the Spurs in a losing skid.
I'm almost pulling for a loss. I'd like to see our players REALLY have their bell rung. Something that pisses them off and makes them work to avenge it for the rest of the season. Whatever it takes to get our players mad.

shouldn't they be mad enough for getting beat by mavs last playoffs???
if that doesn't make them mad enough, why do you think a simple regular season loss will get them mad?

"Also the game is in San Antonio. "
Yeah, home teams never lose playoff Game7s :lol
You Mavs fans need to have more confidence in the Spurs' inability to play well in statement games, or even admit statement games exist.
all i know is whoever wins this game will lose the next one. we will split 2-2 and meet in the Western conference Finals. im not going to even watch the game, its Friday Night :p:

Not if Phoenix interferes with our plans. Whoever gets the 1 seed has a huge advantage.

I don't know if the #1 is all that important this year - maybe to the Suns the most of the three. The big 3 (Suns, Spurs, Mavs) can win anywhere and they all have confidence to know that. So home court, while helpful, isn't a guarantee to win a series for the big 3.
Between them and Utah and the Fakers the west PO's are going to be good this year.
PS - don't be surprised if the Mavs lose three straight games.

haha. I'll take it. I thought the mavs had a chance to steal it tonight but I thought it was a long shot. Great win. I'll be :drunk tonight.
:lol
last year we beat them by 20 at home, and everyone here argued that it was a back2back.
our real test is our next game against the Lakers. 48 of our last 51 trips there we have come home with a loss :pctoss
if we can get this one, then i will really feel strong about the team
