The price of never farming a "Bowen replacement", because Bowen's already done and we have nobody to fill that spot. How many people have went off on him all year? What has he done this year?

This season is collapsing, "it's just Janauary" isn't cutting it. We're losers. I can't believe how crappy this team is playing. The mental block of the Mavs thinking they can't beat us is over.

Spurs can't keep up with the new NBA.

Bowen guarded Howard today and did an awesome job. What are you babbling about?

The price we are paying is the price of disrespecting the Little General.

unfortunately now we need someone who can play defense and also put up 10-15 a night.

Hmmm....you are a pessimist like me but you're taking it too far. Spurs are not losers.

They're losers this year. Six home losses in the first three months?!

Whatever happened to 3 home losses in our 05 year.

I love this team but I can be pissed at them and their effort. No way they can be this bad and have it just be a "slump".

Did you watch the game? Bowen wasn't guarding Dirk except on rare occassions. That was Tim, Horry and Oberto.

SA is not "collapsing." What I saw in this game is the same thing I saw last year in the reg seasn and the playoffs. SA and DAL are two very even teams. It could have gone either way. This season series will be 2-2 (like I said before the season started) and will most likely be a 7 game playoff series. Please, step away from the ledge!

Now if SA had lost by 15, then yes it would be a sign of trouble, but they didnt. It was a close game, like its been the past what, 5 games?

pop should just stick to that big rotation instead of adjusting to the other teams smallball, smallball offense doesnt work for us.

we are known as interior defense and rebounding, well not for this season since pop fuckd up for the last 2 years.

As long as you have DUNCAN, you have a chance. Spurs played with lots of emotion. This should be a wake up call.

This is why we need Maggette. If it becomes a free throw contest he can keep up. If we don't trade for him, White better all of a sudden develop Bowen's D and Tony's O.

That's the thing though, our championship years, we closed out close games with a victory, now if it's a close game it's a loss on our record.

I find it embarrassing that they make so many mental mistakes against a team like the Mavericks, our rivals. EACH victory they have over us, the more it hurts us forever because now the Mavericks know the game 7 win was no fluke.

We have old players who are struggling, our main offensive option is like the 05 Sonics, which is a lot of three pointers and jumpers. Why can't Duncan dunk anymore? None of our players really seem to care out there most of the time it seems.

They get what they pay for (or not pay for).

Its not enough for Bowen to play good D -- they need some freakin offense from him!

Trade everybody but Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. Okay, we can keep Elson and Oberto, too.

Why keep Elson or Oberto? If you want to overhaul the team, that would be a good place to start (and yes, I know Oberto had a good half today).

Yeah but I guess the point is that the thread starter thought that Bowen was guarding Dirk and he wasn't (except on a couple possessions).

Yet they were almost beat.

Come on homer...only Dirk played well and they still won on the night of a back to back on the road. Not a good sign for the Spurs my friend. Mavs are the team to beat...not that you shouldn't have know that since theat are teh WC champs

Bowen isn't big enough to be a "Dirk-stopper" now that Dirk has developed a mid-post game.

"Spurs can't keep up with the new NBA."

That's a ridiculous remark. Bullshit to that nonsense. What the hell, can't the guys lose a few games without everyone coming unglued?
