To bad Alonzo isn't avalable, he would be perfict. Seriously though, most teams in the league are looking for that same thing .... join the crowd

I'm thinking Spurs just need someone with length and some athleticism to matchup with Irk. But I agree with the title.

Mario Boggan somewhere in the 2nd round.

Though I kind of wonder if the FO will let themselves draft someone undersized. :rolleyes

Who knows, maybe there's a future for javtokas. And Scola. Would love to have Jeff Foster, a rebounding machine.

The Spurs need a tough aggressive, rugged big man.

I'm guessing the Spurs are just figuring that out as well. How nice would it be to have Reggie Evans right now? Here are numbers per 40 minutes:

Reggie Evans
http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/nba/profiles/players/65x90/3663.jpg
12.7 Points
17.2 Rebounds

Francisco Elson
http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/nba/profiles/players/65x90/3364.jpg
11.3 Points
10.9 Rebounds

Fabricio Oberto
http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/nba/profiles/players/65x90/3988.jpg
11.7 Points
10.4 Rebounds

So not only is Evans a drastically better rebounder than Elson and Oberto, he's also a better scorer this year. Evans is giving the Nuggets 7 points and 9 rebounds in 20 minutes per game this year. Elson's season-high is 9 rebounds.

Evans leads the NBA in rebounds per minute. The Spurs have been outrebounded by the Mavs in 13 straight games.

Wasn't Reggie Evans a RFA? It was more likely Denver matches him than Elson.

Dennis Roman, not literaly but some one that will throw a elbow, and get down and dirty, dive on the floor, and go after every rebound

timvp

Elson got $3M per year.

Evans got $3.6M per year.

Nice decision there :lmao

Yeah, kind of sucks. The Spurs wanted the fleet-footed Elson. The problem was giving Oberto so much money two years ago.

Oberto needs a new haircut, then he will be just fine.

David Robinson would be better that Oberto or Elson if he would still play.

Oberto will fill the bill. We need to rebound better and make free throws. Timmy could also play with a little more emotion (and I don't mean complaining about calls). We seem to only raise our level of play in the playoffs.

We'll be okay. This is the same Maverick team that lucked out a win in that seventh game. Won't happen again. I really think we are a better team, as Tony, Manu, and Oberto are playing better than they were a year ago. Adding Elston and Bonner will also help down the stretch.

Pistons trade Dale Davis and a 2nd rounder for Udrih and Butler.

Dale has been great for us when he plays, but Flip simply won't play him. I'd give you Flip Murray as well, but it won't work $$$-wise. :spin

Hmmmm...Spurs need an athletic big who can run the floor, defend the perimeter, and hit the boards. Spurs fans rejoiced when that guy left.

I thought about him yesterday because they are willing to give him up for a pick. I used to like him, but now I don't know if he's worth it:lol

I think he has a bad (lazy) attitude.

Can we trade for David Lee? I know he is not a big man that you guys are talking about but I think hes that a pretty good rebounder for a SF can score and has a lot of heart and hustle.

Jermain Oneal!

i feel like that would simply be the best possible move in the history of spurs-dom since tp and manu came about. having two big men capable of 20-10 nights as well as two extremely athletic guards and bowen's defense would almost ensure a trip to the finals. but it would never happen because we don't have enough to offer....i know the nets want to drop carter and/or jefferson but we can't land half-man, half-amazing without cutting into the big 3.
