I was hoping the Diamondbacks would make a solid two/three year offer to him, but then the market went berzurk and then came the Johnson trade, so any money they did have is gone, not that they ever had enough to spend on Mulder in this market in the first place.

If he's healthy, he's a great pitcher.

13 million over two years. That's a steal if he's healthy. If not, it's still a solid price. For someone of his potential, if you can get a contract where, if he's healthy, his per-win salary is under a half a million then you got the better end of the contract, no doubt about it!

If he can come back, he should net 12-16 wins no problem. Even if he's not fully healthy for both years, 8-12 wins per isn't a lot to expect.

Cards we darn near a show in as long as they came back with something in the same ballpark. Turns out, Mulder actually is old school and feels like he owes something to the team for sticking by him, and wants to prove to Card fans that he is what they traded for.

Yeah the focus goes to guys like Jeff Weaver and Preston Wilson now.

Wilson is prob signed, then Weaver will get offered 1 year 9 mill maybe.

If we can get Preston for 4 mil I'd take him, Otherwise he ain't worth it.

I'd say Preston will get less than that.

Jocketty on a local radio show said that they will talk to him, and Weaver.

If they can get them two, this team will be more than ready to defend their championship
