View Full Version : Eddie Jones Anyone????

I know he is kind of old, but wouldn't be bad off the bench for the Spurs to come in for Bowen. Rumors are going around stating that the Grizzlies are about to waive him making him a free agent. He could be a cheap risk. I know the point is to get younger, but a lot of the available long threes may cost the Spurs more than what they're willing to give up. Here is one of Eddie Jones latest quotes.

"I can still defend my butt off," he said. "I can still make the open shots. That's something a lot of teams would love to have, especially a team that has a chance of doing something great."

He may be trying to pimp himself out, but you never know.

Just a thought. Give me some feedback.

no way man...seems like the spurs is becoming the geriatric home of the NBA. we need to become younger and more athletic, which is what the NBA caters to now. relics do us no good, see Terry Porter, NVE, Finley, etc. we need players who have upside rather than those in the twilight of their career.

Well I could think of worse players that we could add for the short term. Could he be any worse than our perimeter guys now?

considering the Spurs have purposefly set themselves up to be incredibly old (Barry, Oberto, Finley), i could see this happening.

But not until Jones is a free agent, his salary slot is probably still too much for the Spurs to come up with without the big 3.

Good lord people. The Spurs shouldn't be running the NBA's retirement home.

The Spurs need to get younger on the perimeter

Period.

Thing is, the Spurs don't have scouting binders for players under 30. They're not even sure who any of them are.

People play basketball before they turn 30?????

I just thought it could be a cheap "option" without having to trade anyone. He will more than likely be waived.

Yes. Eddie Jones makes Finley's shot look like Steve Kerr's. 31% shooting, 4 ppg.

You think TP doesn't step in big moments? Wait until we get Eddie Jones.

True. I remember him not stepping up in big time situations. He would fit right in then.

I'd rather have Caron Butler - ultimate pipe dream!

Butler has always been a favorite of mine since the time he was with Miami. Never understood why he couldn't stay on one team.

Eddie Jones is the type of guy the Nuggets need off the bench come playoff time

Id love for them to sign him for the vet minimum if he is waived
