Hope - Fransico Elson runs away with the starting center position and becomes a very good off the ball defender which allows the perimeter D to clamp up more.

Expectation - Fransisco Elson improves his off the ball defense but isn't able to do so consistently. Oberto remains in the rotation and in the playoffs the duo can't combine to be an effective force on the glass.

Hope - Barry and Finley both find a consistent stroke and open up the middle for Tim Duncan. Furthermore, Finley is able to find his pull up jumper and ends the season on a high note. Barry in turn is able to continue early season aggressive play and ends the season on his best roll as a Spur.

Expectation - I believe Barry will finish the season well, and I believe that he will play very well in the playoffs and easily believe his play will be the best off of the bench. However, Finley hasn't shown me anything to believe he will come out of his slump at any point this year, so I've pretty much given up on him. I hope that this causes Pop to play him less, but unfortunetly I don't believe Pop will keep him on the bench.

Hope - Beno's play becomes consistent and he settles into a rythmn becoming a viable shooting threat off the bench.

Expectation - Suprise Suprise, I believe Beno is about to turn a corner. Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that Beno's 2nd half of the season will be the best half season of play for the Spurs since his rookie campaign. I don't think he'll be a very good defender, but I do think he'll become a bit more scrappy and make some hustle plays, and I believe he'll regain his shooting touch. Beno has a too good a shot to struggle this much, and if nothing else he needs to get that back and give the Spurs some scoring off of the bench.

Hope - Bonner is able to come back and pick up right where he left off and continue to give the Spurs a Danny Ferry/Malik Rose-like spark off the bench with hustle and timely scoring.

Expectation - Bonner will do just that. The injury will keep him out, but he will be back intime to crack the rotation come the playoffs and will provide the most consistent 3 point threat off the bench along with hard nosed rebounding and all around scrappy play that will inspire team mates and give this lethargic at times unit a boost in the energy department.

Your turn.

Hope: Eric Williams is given a chance to shine in a critical game, and shows hes the long three and defender that they have needed all year

expectation: Pop stupidly leaves him on the bench, and then later releases him in the middle of February, where he is picked up by the Nets, and does very well in helping them to win the Atlantic division.

Nail meet hammer. You seem to hit most of our hopes, but maybe a bit too optimistic about the expectations. The Beno expectation maybe a little too far fetched but I will be right there cheering him on if he can turn the corner.

Hope: we can beat dallas in a seven game series. Barry, Beno, Horry, and Finley all hit a few timely shots in the series and we survive one more year into the finals.

Expectation: Finley and Beno continue to disappoint. Horry has a few shots left in the tank. Barry earns some of his salary. Manu comes through when it matters the most and we manage to take it to a seventh game.

Hope: Spurs go on a 36-5 run and win more regular games than last year with the current squad.

Expectation: You guys are going to make fun of me. :lol

Hey, it could happen. :)

And of course I hope we kick serious tail all the way through the play offs.

Hope : The Spurs get better defensively as a team

Expectation : They will, they always seem to...

Hope : The Spurs young newly aquired talent blossoms and becomes a big part of the team.

Expectation : Bonner and Elson will get better, Beno won't.

Good ones, Manny. TPark, dude you have to be joking. EWill can't play good for anyone but the Nets. He's just not a happy camper.

Hope: Get rid of Oberto, Beno, and either Finley or Barry, or both, and get Maggette and trade for Justin Williams. Give E-Will and Jackie more time. Draft a PG.(Acie Law)

Expectations: I dont know what to expect anymore...

He also stated that when he was traded that he was unhappy with the distance from his son that still lives in the New Jersey area and the hopes that he could #1-win a championship with the Spurs or #2-be traded back east. Media doesn't talk to him. Watch him though.

In other words, pulling it out of thin air.

Thought as much.

Hope: Spurs go on a huge tear come February, winning 16 straight and finishing as the #2 seed at the very least. The D steps up and everyone understands their roles. SA's bench players kick it up an extra gear and beat the mavs in 6 games as elson, finley, oberto, and barry all bring solid performances en route to the title beating Chicago in 6 tough games.

Expectations: The Spurs sleepwalk through the rest of the season, finishing as a #3 seed and end up getting outsted in 6 to dallas, as their lack of rebounding, inability to hit big shots or make the big stops in crunch time, as well as no production outside of the big three becomes our undoing.

A slow offseason has us back to square one at training camp for the following year.

Hoped: Manny would cease his Findawg delusions and arrive at realitic expectation for Grampa Bricks.

Expectation fullfilled: Many has very realistic hope and expectation level for Barry and Finley.

Starting 2/28 they play 8 straight playoff teams on the road. My hope is they go 4-4. Have no idea what to expect.

Hope: Poppy will cease losing small ball strategy and go tall in playoffs. More Elson, less Fabs unless in together vs correct opponent. Finley at the 4 never again. Ever.

Expectation: I have a fear that he will pull the same small bull as last year, sitting Elson and playing Fabs at center for 25+ minutes a game in an attempt to prove how Zenny smart and independant he is. (Read Cementhead).

Hope: Dump n Stand* O will be replaced by winning 2003 and 05 Ball Movement offense.
Expectation. 4 Dumb a plenty in a 2nd round ouster. *I'm not talking about throw it to Duncan and 3-4 others move around. I'm talking the all to well known Dump it to Tim who holds the ball for 5 seconds before doing anything as all 4 stand around as ordered by Pop. The tape doesn't lie.

Hope: Finley and Barry will drive the ball to the rack repeatedly, getting either layups, assists, or FTs. Especially Finbricks.
Expectation: With Pops blessing, will continue same old Fin chuck it up crap and be rewarded for it by more minutes in playoffs.

Hope: FO makes move before trading deadline that greatly improves our playoff chances
Expectation. Other teams know we need help and are not about to give it unless it benefits their team greatly. Not gonna happen.

Hope: Manu and possibly Parker call a team only meeting. Tell Tim they are sick of his constant whining to refs and passive play. They also tell Pop he is a Duncan suck up and both of them need to be team players and not just ride this out a few more years and co-retire with their self satisfactory 3 titles. Livens up the whole team and knocks both of them off their pedastools.
Expecation: Status quo.

Expectation:Beno gets traded and never comes back
hope: Finley,Horry and Barry finally retire and move to South Florida and hang out with O.J. over there
A fact:The spurs wont win this year unless they get rid of some of these guys inmediatly.

HOPE: We make a good trade or two that give us better rebounding and athleticism. Then we finish with at least the number 2 seed in the West and because we won't have the homecourt advantage we will end up winning the series against Dallas.

EXPECTATION: "We are happy with the players that we have." - Pop
