View Full Version : Here's How We Get O'Neal

Three team deal with the Spurs, Pacers and Grizzlies

Spurs send Parker and Barry to Memphis
Pacers send O'Neal to San Antonio and Shawne Williams to Memphis
Grizzlies send Gasol and Warrick to Indiana

In the End
San Antonio
Loses Parker and Barry
Gets O'Neal

Pacers
Loses O'Neal and Shawne Williams
Get Warrick and Gasol

Grizzlies
Lose Gasol
Get Parker and Barry and Shawne Williams

Then San Antonio is left with the problem of getting a pass first ball handler to run the point, so there in lies the problem. I thought if the Clippers got involved this could happen. Any suggestions on the next move?

No way the Spurs are trading Tony, we would suck without Tony. Could you imagine if Beno had to run the point full time?

Gasol + TD would not work. Gasol and TD both need to play low post. If the Spurs passed on Scola for this very reason why would they bring in Pau when he earns the MAX? With Pau on the court that means either he or Tim has to guard Dirk and that ain't gonna work.

Spurs will not make a trade that brings in any player with any sort of merit yet IF the spurs make any trade this board will orgasm over it and call the new player the savior to this team.

The Spurs suck compared to past seasons. It's just how it is.

Sounds good. Even an average point would look fantastic with JO/Elson/TD front line.
Have you run this by the salary retards to make sure RealGM website says they can do this?

Good big Oneal> good small parker.

Iīd say letīs bring Scola and hold on to TP,I donīt like him trying to be Allen Iverson, but I think heīll realize it,and will start playing some more team oriented type of basketball, like he used to.

my philosophy is to never trade young for old. you want to get younger to avoid the situation the spurs are in now...a senior citizen bench with very little young talent to mentor.

ArgSpursFan
01-22-2007, 04:00 PM
I'll say this though. Out of all the BS we see here this comes the closest to even being reasonable. Its still BS but at least it doesn't stink as bad as some of the others.

Parker is solid and young. He's really all the Spurs have to look forward too, plus he's the best player currently on the team.

tell me, where the BS is at?
Parker playing Iversonīs type of basketball?
come on,a guy who can improve his numbers but canīt make his team play better????.
Thats Iversonīs basketball all day,and I never liked watching Iversonīs teams.

Parkers won rings dude...more than one. This team has succeed where AI never has. He has a better shooting % than AI and he takes better shots. The reason the team sucks this year has little to do with Parker. Not to mention Beno couldn't run this team if he had Shaq and MJ in their prime.

so explain why his numbers got better, and the team sucks against +0.500 records teams.when you play against real teams you need to play as a team, otherwise youīll loose.
And that means ball movement to find the open man, something the spurs have a hard time doing, right now.

Rumor has it that the Heat and Shaq are talking buyout. Shaq wants to come back home to San Antonio and Drob said that he would unretire #50 and give it to shaq if he decided to come to the Spurs for the vets minimum!

Because for most of the year we have not had NBA-quality play from the big man playing next to Tim Duncan, our Defense has regressed, Manu has only played like Manu for about a month and Dallas and Phoenix have improved.

You people are so fucking miopic sometimes.

"We're not scoring as many points as the other team! The Point Guard controls the offense, so it must be his fault! Plus he's a French Frenchie and he's dating a Hollywood celebrity!"

Getting O'Neal would be sweet, but trading away our second leading scorer and best PG would be a DISASTER. Not mention trading away our best 3 point shooter and second best ball handler (after Tony) as well. That would leave us with Beno and Jacque Vaughan as our only PGs.

Not even O'Neal would be worth that.

O'Neal is not really what we're looking for, anyway.

trading parker for oneal is not going to bring championships to the spurs. hell, it probably wouldn't even make the spurs a better team.

Trading Parker is a huge mistake, Ginobili would make more sense due to his age and how he usually misses 10-15 games a year due to injury, although I could see them getting O'Neal without sacrificing the big 3, but it'd take a lot.

They really do need someone like O'Neal, it'd make them contenders beyond the Duncan era and into the Parker/O'Neal era of, like, 2009?

I think TP has a little Iverson in him.

But he has the little bit that many succesful NBA players have, and need, to be good in this league. He does have a chip on his shoulder, he does feel like he needs to do well for the team to do well, and he does feel like he can take it to any player in the NBA. But he doesn't take that to the next level where he's selfish, and he is by no means a cancer.

Though Iverson could do well with a few extra assists per game, too.

Give it up dammit. Tony ain't going nowhere jack. Especially w/ a 66 million dollar deal that could've easily been 20 more from any other team! If we do a big time trade, it HAS to be Manu, unless Paul is coming to town!

Gasol is a very good player, he is usually underrated when he can be argued in the top 10 place in the NBA of player talent. I really believe they should go after Gasol instead of O'Neal because O'Neal is more injury-prone than Gasol.
