HIGH BROW (http://www.nypost.com/gossip/33810.htm)

November 10, 2004 -- SEN. Zell Miller (D- Ga.) laced into New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd yesterday on the "Imus in the Morning" radio show, saying, "The more Maureen Loud [sic] gets on 'Meet the Press' and writes those col umns, the redder these states get. I mean, they don't want some high brow hussy from New York City explaining to them that they're id iots and telling them that they're stupid." Miller also suggested "that red-headed woman at the New York Times" should not mock anyone's religion: "You can see horns just sprouting up through that Technicolor hair." Dowd responds: "I'm not a highbrow hussy from New York. I'm a highbrow hussy from Washington. Senator, pistols or swords?"
At least she admits to being a "highbrow hussy." Geography (at least, vis a vis a difference between being from New York or Washington) makes no difference.

My thoughts exactly, Joe. Is this his post congressionial career? Attack dog for the conservatives? Whatever increases your Q rating, I guess...

Acutally, if you guys had been paying attention you'd know that Zell saw the recent struggles of the Democratic Party coming a long time ago. I think ya'll should appoint Zell head of the DNC...he won't accept it, because he's retired, but you guys might gain some credibility back with the population.

Zell is a bitter man whose time has come to throw in the towel.

Actually, I think he's fairly pleased with the way the election came out and, probably, feels a little self-satisfied.

Give 'em Hell Zell!

Why exactly does he call himself a Democrat? Habit?

Why exactly does he call himself a Democrat? Habit?Pretty much. He's retiring anyway...why change your business card this close to closing the office down?

I actually thought Zell was the one who looked foolish since the only real "zinger" was an insult towards him ...

That's certainly one way to look at it. However, I was more referring to the bigger picture where Zell is on the winning side of all the campaign escapades gone by...

He could care less what you think, I suspect.

Politics is show business for ugly people.

Case in point.

Exactly. And I could care just as less about what his opinion is on anything.

Pistols at dawn! :)

Ya'll do know what she's referring to with the "pistols or swords" remark, right? When Zell was with those Hardball guys after his speech at the RNC....that was some funny shit.

Yeah, I saw clips of it. "I wish we lived in a day and age when you could challenge a man to a duel?"

I heard him on KTSA about a month ago, but I don't listen to them anyway...so, maybe that's where he's at.

Same reason Strom once considered himself to be a Democrat.

Alas, Strom moved on, fucked women in his old age, and was, generally happy; not so for Zell. What can one say? Zell Miller is the one person who takes Viagra and experiences nausea, bloody noses, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, memory loss, sleeplessness, severe headaches, extreme flatulence ... AND YET, NO HARD-ON.

Hahah. I now have a mental image of a very angry Zell Miller attempting to get an erection.

... it's scary.

Zell Miller is the old school Democrat that the Party left behind years ago. Ya know, the kind that likes to keep people different from himself and his friends in the back of the bus. That's probably why he's so pissed off all the time, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was issues like affirmative action, no child left behind, and equal housing protections that drove Miller to the Republican party.

Why would he join the GOP if he was pissed about "no child left behind"?

Your joke is tired lil' man.
