Will the Spurs win a championship this season trade or not? Say it now - no later that or playoffs this. I want a stance and I want the GRANDE NOMBRES to step forward. I'm talking about big names like Aggie Hoopsfan, Spurschick, Kori, Inagra, Solid D, Tpark, Shoogar Bear, Timvp, Angel Luv, Marcus Bryant, Rasho Fan, Johnny Blaze. The All-Star posters. I'm talking the BIG QUESOS at the spurstalk html code. I want strong stances and I want them now.

Spurs = championship, yes or no? Will they win one anytime soon?

Don't give me clauses and ifs, give me answers.

No.
Next year? Maybe.

The Spurs can win a championship, but whether they do or not depends on if they play like they did in the final 5 minutes, or if they play like they did for the first 43 minutes.

With this roster, no.

I reserve the right to change my mind with a trade.

The Spurs are on pace to get a 5-8 seed. I believe this team has some tools to give it a serious try, but it's up to Pop to come up with a plan and start picking the right chest pieces. It's up to Pop. Simple as that.

Great solid stance. Exactly the kind of hard nosed, one side of the fence kind of post I was looking for.

Let me rephrase.

I will never give up hope that they can win a championship. They certainly have all the right pieces. They just need to show desire and hunger, and if they can do that, then they will win the championship.

For the moment, the Spurs' most likely First Round opponents would appear to be either Houston or the Lakers. Spurs are a combined 1-4 against those teams, and but for a fairly miraculous comeback, would be 0-5.

Despite the slow, ugly, aggravating start ( How is that Bear? :lol), I still have faith for this team.

I believe the Spurs will get itheir coporate act together and I say we have another parade this summer. :fro

Not until they get an influx of young talent.

The Spurs have been a very good team since I moved here in '80.

So there's no reason to believe that they won't keep it up and get one or two more shots soon. I say they win another one within 5 years.

I'm not sure even a minor trade would help them at this point. They need a pretty big trade/impact player to come in and help them.

That or if Elson miraculously learns to play defense, old Spurs style.

Please_dont_ban_me
01-25-2007, 07:58 PM
They win it this year.

Finley can't possibly play any worse. He'll start hitting open shots. Bowen will step up his game and start hitting those corner 3's. The Suns don't scare me, and we came within one foul of beating the Mavs last year. Most importantly, Elson will play a big role down the stretch. That is all. I'll check back on this thread when the playoffs start.
