Right now the Rockets are also better than the Spurs if you count head to heads. They've whipped on the Spurs twice, each time missing one of their superstars. The only Spurs win required a near miraculous comeback from a massive deficit. So I find it hard to argue that the Spurs are top three. But no need to be nit picky.

Trade is possible, but you gotta have goods to facilitate a trade. Unfortunate the Spurs cannot just pillage another team's roster. Right now, the Spurs don't seem to have TOO much of value to obtain value, or at least gain a clear advantage via trade.

I think the Spurs made some offseason miscalculations and will have to suck it up this season.

James White is evidently far from being ready. And Jackie Butler's lazy, out of shape ass seems even further away.

We just have to pray that the Spurs get super hot come playoff time ala the Rockets in 1994.

I hear ya.....I guess what Im saying is that you cant be #1 all the time and certainly not forever. I would love another championship of course, but Im realistic. I knew the day would come when the Spurs would not be the leagues best anymore. Its about that time it appears.

If you think straight you should know that these players are professionals, who are paid millions of dollars to PERFORM EVERY NIGHT! People are paying great deal of money to see that - the reasons of being spoiled or winning 3 titles are simply inexcusable and Pop also has to take his share for that by saying "the team doesn't have enough motivation"...Well, it is his damn job for the players to be motivated - the Celtics in the 60s won 8 consecutives titles and the players were paid 100 times less than THOSE ASSHOLES RIGHT NOW!!! This has been the oddest year for me as a Spurs fan than I have ever experienced.

During the off-season, I went through anguish as the Spurs Front Office seemed to lose its legendary magic touch in signing remarkable players.

Early in the season, I regained my hope, which then fell once again as the losses began to pile up.

All in all—at the brink of throwing in the towel—I think I can see a glimmer of hope after the Houston game.

The Spurs fought back—after the Rockets went ahead in the fourth. They were playing the last few minutes like a playoff game—and nearly pulled it out.

I think they will do great on the Rodeo Road Trip.

Lets not lose hope everyone.

Some of you all need to chill out. No, the Spurs are not rolling through the league right now, but they are not exactly out of contention for the title either. I'm sure exactly 24 teams out there woud love to suck as bad as we do right now.

And enough of this ripping of Pop & co. It is due to their wise and prudent trades, draft picks, and free-agent signings that we can claim to be 3-time world champs right now. They've built a culture of winning & professionalism hardly rivaled in all of sports.

So be happy with what we've got, because when it's gone and we have to rebuild down the road, it's gone.
