that the starting center/non-Duncan big man has not recorded a single block out of the 44 games played.

That 55% of starts without a block is way out of the traditional Spurs norms, even last year which was terrible in that aspect was better.

2000 - 80 Robinson starts only - 15%

2001 - 80 Robinson starts only - 17.5%

2002 - 78 Robinson starts only - 15%

2003 - 64 Robinson starts only - 23%

2004 - 82 Rasho starts - 15%

2005 - 70 Rasho starts only - 14%

2005 playoffs - 23 Nazr starts - 39%

2006 - 80 combined Rasho/Nazr starts - 41%

Spurs are currently 14th as a team in blocks per game

Cause Duncan has no one back there to help him, all those years you listed, there was always another shot blocker on the team, this year? No one

true, there are no other shotblockers. Not even Elson, who conventional wisdom might extrapolate as a fair shotblocker with his length, leaping, and relative quickness. But no, Elson demonstrated the opposite last season with Denver when in 55 starts, 33 were without a block.

Too bad there's not another defender at the rim at a time when the perimeter defenders are so beset by age.

Thats why I wish they had brought the Lithuanian in, Jask...whatever the fuck his name is, we need another shot blocker desperately, Oberto cant jump over a sheet of paper, Elson seems like he is add and cant concentrate, and Butler is just fat, at least Rasho blocked shots
