Yes. And I think that might actually be the best solution we have at this point. Mel is right about trying to set up a new league, given those who were planning to autodraft and wouldn't have time to create their lists.

I wonder if we couldn't set a chat on Wednesday evening and then have someone (probably the Commissioner) imput the names after that. That would avoid the problem with finding a convenient draft time for everyone while only creating a small amount of additional work.

Nobody can get the draft to work. We have a couple of options -- one is to have a chat-based draft right now, but timvp, JB, and WillinSA haven't agreed to that and we wouldn't have autodraft lists for any of them.

Another option is to upgrade to a premium league, which would allow us to have a draft on Yahoo on Tuesday, Wed., or Thurs. evening (as far as I can tell).

Still another is to just see what later draft times we can get for this league -- the problem is that the times on Tues, Wed. and Thurs this week are all pretty early in the day (4 p.m. or so) and there are some who aren't available for Friday or Saturday.

Good point. We won't know until the draft is over whether or not they actually did that, I would guess. Talk about a bunch of hooey. Yahoo should automatically upgrade our league for this.

My league was scheduled to draft on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 5:45 p.m. CDT. While members of the league could access the draft applet, each member eventually received an error message that read "ERROR: Failed to connect to server." Nobody signed up to participate in an auto-draft league, but unless we are allowed to re-draft, we, through no fault of our own, are left with no other choice. In addition, for members who made specific plans to participate in a draft at the time we sought were greatly inconvenienced by the unavailability of the service at the time it was promised to us. Problematically, given the late date of our scheduled draft, we are unable to find acceptable draft times available for non-Premium leagues. We have noticed that numerous draft times remain available for the Premium leagues, but don't think that we should have to pay to upgrade our league just to be able to find a reasonable draft time. What can be done to solve these problems which, again, were not of our making? It will be extraordinarily disappointing to find that Yahoo is unwilling to do anything to ensure that our expectations in creating a league on your service are met.

UPDATE: I haven't officially created the new league yet, because I wanted to see if Yahoo would respond in any way to our request to be made whole. (by the way, at 7:20 CDT this morning, our league page still says that we're drafting). I looked to me like we could get whatever draft time we wanted if we took the Premium league approach, so I thought it might be best to be patient until a few hours have passed on Monday and then do something.

With that said, whether Yahoo comes through for us or not, there's now no reason that I have to be the one to set up the league and serve as commissioner. If Yahoo doesn't open bunches of new draft times and doesn't give leagues free upgrades, then whoever is commissioner is going to have to be the one to put down the money to pay for the premium league.

I just got an e-mail from Yahoo responding to my request last night that they give us our choice of draft times for the league that's already been established. It appears that they're willing to do that for us. Perhaps we don't need the new league after all.

In the email I received from Yahoo, it mentioned that the commisioner could change the time and date for the draft in commisioner tools.

Unfortunately, due to server problems, your draft was not able to be run as scheduled.

Since we know how important participating in a live draft can be, and how many users can only do that on a specific day at a specific time, we felt it important to try and accommodate those preferences. So, rather than having your league Autopicked, we left it undrafted and set up a new live draft for Apr 1 15:00.

If you are in a Public League and can not participate at this new time, you can simply remove yourself from the league and join a new one that is holding its draft at a more convenient time.

If you are in an Custom League, your League Commissioner can change the draft time via the Commissioner Tools accessible from your League Overview page.

We have fixed the issues that caused the problems and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you.

Yeah I just checked again. The latest time available Tuesday is 5:45pm. So, if they don't email me back to change it for me, then we'll have to go with the new league (which is set for 8:30pm).

The draft is in six hours or so and those two have still not added their teams to the new league.

Yahoo answered me by email and told me to provide them with my name/zipcode/DOB/Mother's Maiden Name/Secret Question etc. I did all that, but they haven't changed the old league or responded yet.

Hopefully TXJudson and WillinSA sign up for the new league in time.

I think that this is probably the best course of action. After all the drama over this, I would think that most everyone can accept a 1/2 hr later start and this way everyone who already paid gets to play.

Also, I don't want $50 less coming to me when I win this thing. :fro :drunk

I would think that's the best idea, to at least give TxJudson and WillinSA a chance to participate. Plus, anyone who had done draft rankings in anticipation of a draft on Sunday will still have those rankings set up in the old league.

Kori -- looking at the page for the old league, there's a notation that the draft order will be set randomly 30 minutes before the draft.

Just an FYI -- you might have to re-input the draft order we've been working from since the draft got changed. I have no idea, really. I just want to be sure that there are no surprises there.
