Whats up with third quarters????

I dont have statistics to show but it looks to me that something strange happens at the third quarter.
Tonight grizzlies-spurs went 21-29 26-33 34-19!!! and 15-31,
and I remember similar patterns in the near past.

I didnt saw the game because I couldnt find it here in the idiot box
Could anybody please give me some explanation? :wtf
