View Full Version : ginobili's play
We all have seen a modification in his play, he drives less , jump shoot more, and often really get wild int the fourth...coud it be because he wants to save himself for the play-off? He knows how injuries struck him last year so maybe we wiil see an super explosive manu in again..he could really be an x-factor then ...and surprise every team...if manu regains his level of 05 or near with relentless drives i bet with an healthy duncan they have as good a chance in 05 and probably a lot better than next year...maybe it is why pop don't panick with trade as most of us...we can also see timmy and barry are more agressive and tony becoming more of a distributor...so basically ,from inside , the team could be improving and come play-off time be more of a threat we could think...but i can't seem to note even while manu is still an excellent player something is missing..the great energy he had in his even in his rookie year is not there yet..

Manu is one of those guys--Kobe is another-- who have a knack for making the 'big' play. It doesn't always show up in the stats, but what a great player to have in the clutch.
I bet Kobe hates--but appreciates--that block by Manu of his shot near the end. Great players most always admire each other's talents.

Actually, if you count the Olympic medals and the European championships and Euro MVPs, thats several more hits than just 1.

thats true+I noticed that he is not dunckin the ball no more when he drives to the hoop.I´m sure he is saving his best game for the playoffs.

He's only dunked when he's had a clear drive, or on a breakaway, but if you watch the old mixes. He was just totally out of control in his dunks, full momentum an dunking over 3 or 4 bodies.
Someone mentioned that he still has mad hops when grabbing those key rebounds in the 4th, so I can still see his athleticism is still intact to do that stuff (maybe not to the degree of 2005, andyounger days) but I can see he's holding back for staying in one piece...but yeah, he's definitely saving himself. (Also the defenses aren't oblivious to him anymore. You could make a case that they adjusted...But he still managed to dunk against the Pistons defense. )
I kinda miss that dunking dimension to his game (even if I understand it's for preservation purposes) because it made him even more unpredictable and the Spurs games more exciting...but in the long term, it's worth sacrifice.

Yeah,he´s not doing the IN YOUR FACE kind of dunks this year, but the guy is still in great physical shape. And i´d say in better shape tham years before this season,he just needs to get his mid-range shoot going to take the spurs to the next level this year again.
