Kobe is not a selfish prick i always imagined he is (was)
say whatever you want.... Jackson had Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe...
He is a hell of a coach and he outcoached Pop today!
he also got together a really deep team in these few years with good role players
these lakers are for real, Bynum is seriously stepping up in the last month or so too

So, unselfish pricks deck the guy who just stuffed their shot? Is that how that works?

he leads them AS A TEAM, that is what i wrote about him; not how much sportmanship is in him
and i dont believe he did that purpose

So he leads by telling his teammates if someone owns your ass on a game winning shot attempt, just reach back and deck them in the face? Got it.

:wtf Kobe clearly didn't do that on purpose...he was trying to get contact so he could get a foul and maybe go to the line and he accidently hit Manu in the face. If you saw, Kobe actually stayed around to check if Manu was ok before walking to the bench. :rolleyes

It was pretty damn clear that was intentional. Kobe didn't stop until he saw the blood on the court from Manu's nose, then he cared.

he was trying to draw contact by violently elbowing someone in the face? :drunk

Kobe swung his arms wildly. Did he intend to clear space illegaly? Yes. Did he intend to smack Manu in the face? No.

Man it seems like everytime kome bean plays against the spurs hes like a man possessed. He probably would have made that shot if manu had not blocked it, but i hate phil more than kome.

kobe is near unstoppable with that jump shot pass. you have to honor his shot and people get wide open when he goes up.

Of course Kobe went back to see if Manu was alright! He's on national tv. He's been trying to get his image straighten out, he doesn't want to be known now as a cheap shot player, but he did swing his arm hoping to get a piece of Manu. Manu just blocked his shot, frustration just set in.

Exactly. They even said it in the commentary, he was trying to get a foul call to shoot FTs by drawing contact and he purposely flailed around and accidently hit Manu. I don't think Manu thought it was on purpose or anyone on the Spurs for that matter, so I don't know why you all think it was...
Man, people are paranoid. Either way Spurs got the win and Manu got an awesome block.

No Spurs ever flail their arms wildly when they get blocked or stripped. That's not a Spur thing to do.

I can't give props to two of the most smug people in the NBA today.
It just won't happen.
I can name a couple people that I think are more smug than Kobe.

That hit from kobe was completely intentional. No one follows through on a shot by swinging the shooting arm straight out to the right. I've never seen anyone do that as a part of their shooting motion. He got his shot blocked and swung for blood on purpose. The league won't do anything about that stuff - you have to police it yourself. The next meeting should include kobe taking a knee in the nuts or a forehead / elbow to the nose. That's how you take care it.

Yeah Kobe's a real standup guy...for example, how about when he fouled Horry on that 3 point attempt, got away with it & as he walked to the bench, stuck his tongue out for about 3 seconds making faces at him...yeah thats real classy.

yea I saw that as him giving a friend a hard time, as if to say hey man sucks for you I got away with one. Besides I think Kobe is pretty good friends with a number of the spurs. I really don't think that had anything to do with being classy.

1P1, it's no use in arguing. Kobe is the devil to some people and anything he does HAS to be intentional because in fact, he is THE DEVIL. :devil
Timmy flails his arms almost everytime he's under the basket to....DRAW CONTACT (what a concept!). What if he it someone in the face? Would THAT be intentional?

I like how the commentators at ABC put a spin on Kobe's tongue antics. "Look Kobe's teasing his 'good friend' Robert Horry" and how some Kobe Apologists licked that up.
Class or no class. I don't care how you cut it, that stuff is 12 year old playground behavior. He knows the cameras are on him but never knows how to act, so he pulls the cocky shit so much. But it's contrived. I mean I understand the funny stories between gamesmanship between two pals like whispering words at the freethrow line or whatever. Or the inside jokes. but that was lame mugging for the cameras. I'm sure RoHo muttered to himself "You're an ass."

UNBELIEVABLE! The spurs won and some are still whining like a bunch of bitches! Geez, take your win and move on! Kobe definitely tried to draw contact but he did not intentionally bitch slap Manu.
Biggest win of the year? :lol Okay, if you call beating a team minus 2 starters the biggest win of the year, sure doesn't say much for your team. You expect to hear those quotes from teams like Charlotte and Memphis, but SA? Time's a changing. :fro

Obviously this is the first game you've watched. Even Duncan says that Kwame plays him well. He's one of the best defensive Centers in the game today.

Just because the commentators gave him the benefit of thedoubt by putting that "look he's teasing his good friend" doesn't mean I have to buy it. And it doesn't mean that wasn't the case either. He wouldn't have done it if it wasn't Rob.
No, what I'm saying there is his cheap "gamemanship" wasn't that funny, just lame and douchebaggy.
I didn't say he didn't have a right to tease his friend Rob. I just think it was a bit feigned and typical Kobe.
He seems like the type that is mindful of appearances.

On the Kobe-punch topic...
I've seen Manu flail quite a few times too. I'm sure he's connected with somebody's face too. That aside, as much as I may dislike Kobe that wasn't...what's the word. Flagrant? He probably meant to clear out Manu so he could get the ball back. But did he mean to bust his face open? I doubt it man.
