That song was stupid, oohh let's show a bunch a girls wearing nba dresses. It was great the first 15 times, until you realize they could be dancing to many different songs with a less level of suckage. And what kind of pictures does michelle tafoya have of michael eisner that she still has a damn job.

Acccording to my online guide, ESPN is showing the PHX-CLE barnburner at 3:30 am EST, ESPN2 is showing Indiana-Detroit at 3 am., and NBA-TV is showing Clippers-Seattle at 3 a.m.

WTF? The one time they actually should repeat a Lakers game and they don't?

There were very few Spurs hghlights to be seen. I first noticed this during the first preview of the Spurs/fakers game that occurred during the halftime of the Suns/Cavs game where Patrick and Wilbon spent more time talking about Kobe and the state of the Fakers. Also during those stupid commericals, there were all-Kobe/Fakers all the time. No Spurs highlight plays to be had.

yep thats the same ol spurs story. we get little to none airtime. only the local heb commercials.

That stupid floating camera following the play nearly made me puke from motion sickness. And the Kobe-love was definitely a little over the top. I just turned the volume down real low after the first ten minutes or so and wished for Sean Elliott to magically appear.

That camera makes me crazy, not sure if eas my TV or that live in South America, but the basket looked smaller than lady ring, or so ...

Mostly of people liked ...not my case, I'd love to take a look on HD that comentators said it was created for it.

I have HD(42 in and 60 in) and to me it is not any better. They say it was created to give you a perspective of watching the game from the tenth row. My only problem with that is If I want to see that perspective I will go to the game. I feel like if you are watching it on TV they should maximize the number of great angles that they have, in my opinion that is not one of them.

It was a 6 year contract

and I doubt the NBA stays with ABC. Maybe ESPN for weekly games but look for NBC to get the rights next year if the ratings for the Finals are poo.

NBA on ESPN on ABC doesn't sound right.

Yeah, I thought he wasn't funny. He tried too hard to be funny.

He saw a normal flop that wasn't even that atypical, and just decided to pick on Oberto, as if anyone would buy his humor. LAMEASS.

LMAO...if the Spurs walking pace is boring to you then you "don't know basketball".

More like, "Don't call my team boring. Even if it WAS established years ago."

If you were watching two other teams play, you'd say, "this game sucks!"

Last two minutes were good, but the 46 minutes up to it were awful.

GOOD LORD! The Spurs are boring! They established this back in 1998 for Christ's sake!! Its been almost ten years and spurs fans are STILL trying to defend their team! No one said they didn't win, just that they're not that much fun to watch!

They are currently 27th in terms of pace....they still have Duncan as their franchise player.....

Some clown says the Spurs/Lakes game was the best of the day...i quickly point out that to everyone outside of San Antonio and L.A., that game was pretty miserable brick-fest.

Then you come back with your pouty "NASH IS A PHONY MVP, SUNS DON'T WIN...BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Right...so the Spurs aren't boring because Nash is phony MVP (whatever that means) or because the Suns don't play defense or because the Suns blah blah blah....

I thought it was the best game of the day simply because it wasn't a blow out and each team had a chance to win towards the end. Suns/Cavs game was pretty much a brickfest itself on the Cleveland side and to me unless its the Spurs beating up on another team like that its not really fun to watch. Except for Lebrons highlight dunk the game was always the Suns.

It wasnt a sweep, it was 4-1 in 05, but all these Sun fans coming out of the woodwork now that they have a little confidence is funny. Yeah you score 120 points a game, but you give up 110, so have fun in the playoffs with that entertainment win you lose.

so don't watch it if you don't like it. you came to spurstalk to say that? you are wasting your bandwidth. you can find lots of agreement on kingstalk, lakersreport, mavstalk, etc. or go to your own stupid board. if you expect to come to spurstalk and get spurs fans to say ok it's boring to me too then you are really stupid.

letting Assholes Broadcasting Corp (ABC) have total control of over-the-air NBA games was and remains a disaster. What kind of drugs are these morons taking?

Pro football has been on THREE MAJOR NETWORKS (FOX, NBC, CBS) for several years. Why the fucking hell isn't the NBA on all three networks, er, NUTworks?

Oh, sure, basketball is not as popular as football. Right, sure thing. If you believe shit like that, you need to spend some time at the following website:

http://alexa.com

Alexa, if you don't know, is a plugin that works, sorry to say, only with Microslut's virus-collecting Internet Explorer browser. But anyway, it tracks and reports where you go, allowing Alexa to document how many visits a website receives. So who gets the most visits--- NBA, Baseball, NFL, Hockey, NASCAR, Golf, etc. NBA, dudes, NBA. Are the morons at NBC TV listening? Fuck no, they're stoned on durgs I suppose. Got their heads up some goddamn race car drivers exhaust pipe. What a bunch of fools.

You'll be amazed at what you see. Here we have NBC, spinning their wheels trying to cram this shitass moronic race car nonsense down everyone's throat, when the NASCAR website has ONE ONE HUNDREDTH OF ONE PERCENT as many hits as www.nba.com, and that doesn't even take into account a host of other popular hangouts for NBA junkies. Put 'em all together and there is no argument that NBA attracts more visitors than any other sport.

And oh my goodness, I forgot GOLF. How about all those Tiger Woods golf matches. Go see how many visits the PGA website gets. Yet here we see NBC TV spinning their wheels, and CBS as well, with all this fucking idiotic golf shit, weekend after weekend, when there are outstanding NBA games going on, especially DURING THE PLAYOFFS, which none of them botther to carry, and we have dickhead dogface David Stern saying "Oh no, we can't allow any other NBA contracts to anyone other than one single nutwork, and for now, that is ABC".

It's a fucked up mess.

ShoogarBear
01-30-2007, 10:09 PM
Problem is, TV revenues aren't based on web site hits but on Nielsen ratings. Until the NBA can prove that it attracts as many people watching commercials as the other sports, the exposure will be comprably limited.

Anyway, it's gigaorders of magnitude better than in 70s, when there was NO live broadcasts on any channel and the NBA Finals were shown on TAPE DELAY on CBS, after the late news.

mikejones99
01-31-2007, 08:25 PM
Who gives a fuck about finals ratings, does that mean american idol is a good show too? no. Just means dumb bitches don't watch Spurs games, so what.

nobodi_home
02-03-2007, 08:43 PM
It seems to me that random data collection via Alexa would represent a much greater degree of accuracy than random data collection via Nielsen.

Nielsen data is what is used by broadcasters, magazines, newspapers, all across the spectrum, to SET ADVERTISING RATES. Is there anything like this involved with the way Alexa complies data on Internet surfing? NO!!

Does Nielsen have a stake in how THEIR ratings come out? Absolutely. Which should cast a dark cloud on their credibility.

Thus, to say that Nielsen considers NBA games not a good gamble for advertisers, whereas moronic, idiotic, totally useless NASCAR races would be so much better for advertisers, is stupendously ridiculous to the extreme. Ditto for golf. If Nielsen says golf generates so many viewers, let them put their data sources on the table. People have been trying for years to get Neilsen to do just that, and they don't. Naturally they won't, because there isn't anybody watching this stupid-ass golf, and the Alexa method of Internet inspection of web surfers proves it.

When hundreds of thousands of cable and satellite customers have their service pulled because they can't pay the higher mortgage rates on their adjustable rate loans, and find themselves kicked out of their houses what will Stupid Stern be thinking then? Will he and NBA team owners be happy with the situation then? Doesn't matter, when the market crash comes, there won't be but a handful of teams that survive, if any at all.

Extra Stout
02-03-2007, 08:57 PM
It is a different group of people surfing the internet than watching golf or NASCAR on TV. Golf's audience is older and less web-savvy. NASCAR has a small, but very devoted audience that faithfully tunes in every week and delivers ratings. They also tend to be from culturally backward parts of the country which don't use the Internet as much. The Internet is the domain of the young, casual fan.
