Jason Witten caught 64 passes for 754 yards, but just one touchdown this season.
IRVING, Texas - Jason Witten is headed to Hawaii once again.

The Cowboys' 24-year-old tight end will make his third consecutive Pro Bowl appearance as an injury replacement for the New York Giants' Jeremy Shockey.

Witten finished second in the NFC and sixth in the league among tight ends with 64 catches and 754 receiving yards in 2006. He's the fourth tight end in franchise history to make multiple Pro Bowl appearances, alongside Jay Novacek (5 times), Doug Cosbie (3) and Billy Joe DuPree (3).

Witten is now the fifth Cowboys player headed to the NFL's all-star game on Feb. 11. Quarterback Tony Romo, linebacker DeMarcus Ware, punter Mat McBriar and safety Roy Williams were selected in December.

Only Witten and Williams have made multiple Pro Bowl appearances. Romo is making his first trip after finishing with a 95.1 quarterback rating in 10 regular-season starts, the third-best rating in Cowboys history. Ware led the Cowboys' defense with 11½ sacks, the most by a linebacker in club history and the most by any Cowboys defensive player since Tony Tolbert recorded 12 in 1996.

Williams, who is making his fourth straight appearance, led the team and tied for 10th in the league with five interceptions. And McBriar will return to his college stomping grounds after a career season that included a league-leading 48.2-yard gross average. Not since the Detroit Lions' Yale Lary in 1963 (48.9) has the NFL featured a punter with a 48-plus gross average.

Witten's 64 catches tied the fourth-best total in club history by a tight end, and his 754 receiving yards was the fifth-best total. Witten posted his third consecutive 60-catch season in 2006, becoming the first tight end in club history to record 60-or-more receptions in a season three times.

Kick fucking ass, Witten is the shit and deserves this completely

Cooley and Smith would have been much better choices, IMO. Yet another reason why Pro Bowl appearances mean absolutely nothing.
