Good, now Elonu can play.

Billy needs to play this guy, he is the best shot blocker on the team....

I could really use another OSU recruiting thread, its been like 5 minutes since the last one.

With eight days left to go before National Signing Day, the Oklahoma State commitment list stands at 22 (greyshirt from '07 Deron Fontenot is not listed at the link).

Cole is undoubtedly one of OSU's top remaining targets.
That begs the question, who is left for OSU?

You have to start with four-star cornerback/wide receiver prospect Ryan Broyles who is currently in "commitment purgatory" between OSU and rival Oklahoma. Broyles apparently switched his verbal from OSU to OU on Monday morning, but is now unsure of what he wants to do according to his father. Much of Gunter Brewer's focus the next few days will be on retaining the commitment he gained from Broyles just over a week ago.

The list beyond Broyles is small, but packs some star power.

One of the hottest properties in the state of Texas after leading Cedar Hill to a 5A state championship, four-star athlete William Cole is set to announce his decision on Sunday night on Dallas television. His final group includes OSU, Arkansas, Kansas and whichever school he chooses to visit this coming weekend. Oklahoma, Arizona and Texas A&M are all vying for the final visit. It is believed that Cole's official visit to Stillwater last weekend went extremely well, but an additional visit this weekend could be worrisome.

Tatum, Texas's Darnius Moore is a potential solution for OSU at either wide receiver or safety. Moore is set to announce his decision this Thursday at 10 a.m. and is believed to have a final three of OSU, Oklahoma and Tennessee. He's announcing with teammate Lennon Creer, who shares OU and Tennessee with Moore in his final three (plus Florida). This one is very difficult to read. OSU's best shot may be if Creer settles on Florida.

For most of his recruitment, OSU has laid pretty low on Dallas Skyline safety Christian Scott's radar. Though the Cowboys haven't been talked about a lot in Scott's updates, they seem to always be around lurking right under the surface. Scott is being hit hard, hosting both Texas head coach Mack Brown and four Texas A&M assistants on Monday night. He'll have coaches from LSU, OU and OSU in his home later this week. If the four-star prospect is leaning to any of those schools, he's not letting on right now.

Thanks to Curtis Luper, OSU continues to hang around on Scott's list.
One of OSU's official visitors last weekend, four-star junior college wideout Co-Eric Riley has been unreachable by phone since returning from the visit. Until we're able to connect with Riley, we'll go with the assumption that he is still committed to Mississippi State - who placed him at Gulf Coast Community College two years ago.

OSU top in-state target, Gerald Jones, has been committed to Tennessee for two months. He has recently mentioned possible visits to OSU and North Carolina to reporters in the last week. The OSU visit didn't come to fruition last weekend. At a minimum, it appears there could be a soft spot in his commitment to the Vols. Nothing of substance points to OSU really having a shot, but so far nothing rules it out either.

Beyond the above group, we also see some chance of OSU trying to pick off a lineman or two on either side of the ball from another school's commitment list. Baylor-turned-Texas Tech commitment Lonnie Edwards might be the lone offensive target. On the defensive line, we currently don't have anyone to point to as a possibility.

It's pretty much guaranteed that the final 10 days of recruiting each year will have some nutty occurances. OSU fans have already seen that with the Broyles flop/didn't flop situation. It's a good bet that won't be the last over the final eight days.

Kinda bummed, I wanted Bennett around in case we ran into Oden in the NCAAs. Martellus is strong enough to deal with him.

I like Martellus's humor and character he brings out there - he scored maybe two points against LSU in the tourney last year but he had some nice hustle plays out there that could have come in handy. It was only a matter of time before he got burned out and had to focus on football, but I was hoping it would be next season. Still, the depth with Elonu and Bryan Davis makes up for a lot.

i never understood that whole thing with Bennett flirting with the NBA right out of high school. i think he is much better at football than basketball. i am glad he has decided to stick with his best sport, will probably best for both teams.

NFL caliber, IMO. Fran under uses him. He should have a TE reverse, much like uo did with Keith Jackson back in the day.

Agreed. Dude gets a pass thrown to him once every 3 games. They dont even use him in the redzone where he could use his size and strength, but I guess that's why we got the J-Train.
