I used to deliver phone cable to SBC yards in the area, but we never got any deliveries to the Yoakum yard. Finally after about 2 years, I got a delivery to Yoakum and when I showed up with the technician's cable, the dude got PISSED that I even showed up.
I couldn't figure out why the guy went off on me for bringing him his cable and then it dawned on me...He's pissed because now he has to get off his fat ass and do some WORK!

About Roma's pizza--The guy who runs the Victoria one is the younger brother of the Dobie Mall guy. My chode literally burst at the seams when I found a Nikis Roma at Dobie, and got to konw the workers there since I ate there like every tuesday - thursday. they do make a decent sandwhich tho.... and amaretto sours.

barsness owned them until sometime in the mid to late 90s. apparently the biggest one with the play room had to shut down, don't know if that was after she had . he opened up ultimate pizza there now, supposedly the same schtick. he had built a ridiculous mansion near the country club with his gatti money.

It actually has a very low murder per capita. Much lower than the national average.
National average in 2005 was 5.6 per 100K people. Victoria was 3.5 - making it tied for 183rd on this list.
