Since the Heat signed Jones, David Aldridge said that the Heat will definately be moving this guy before the deadline. I think he would be a perfect fit, a defender that can hit threes, almost like a younger Bowen. His contract expires after this year too. What do you think it would take to get this guy, and do you think he would be a good fit?

What do the Spurs have that the Heat could want? I don't see any trade that'd make sense.

How the hell does a team that believes Eddie Jones is an upgrade over James Posey win a championship? Seriously, Dallas' Finals last year is maybe the biggest choke I've ever seen in the NBA.

Rights to Scola? Maybe a pick thrown in? Shit, with how old Payton is, they would probably take Beno for him, although that wouldnt leave us much as far as pg goes.

Posey would be beyond great for us, exactly what we need. Could be the long sought after Bowen replacement. If Posey is here he could take over our 3 spot as the starter.

^^I know, I thinkthe exact same thing, Aldridge made it seem like they wanted to move him quickly, I just wonder what it would take

That will be something both Bowen and Posey on the same team. Somewhere Vagina Allen weeps.

I think the Heat are set for their lineup this year, but I really think they would want Scolas rights for next year, especially with the age of their team

Posey is already 30, so he's not a long term option at the 3. But he's okay. He's a good defender, but he can't really shoot 3 pointers (though this year he's better than he normally is in that area).

Who are y'all planning on trading for him? He makes over $6M.

Williams + Oberto would do it salary wise

What's the benefit to the Heat? :lol

Williams+Oberto for Posey+Simien, or Hite, or Quinn could be substituted for Simien.

Williams expiring contract (I know Poseys is expiring too), back up big, which the best one they have is Doleac, and you could even throw Scolas rights in as well, I think they would like the idea of a young pf for next year

Well I think that logically if you are trading for Posey, then you have to be trading Finley or Barry. Otherwise, there would be no minutes for Posey.

Barrys contract almost matches up, throw in Vaughn and it would match up perfect.

I think even if the Heat are willing to make a trade with any of the combinations talked about so far, that the FO would not make the trade. They are going to stick with what we have.... win or lose. They are just stubborn that way.

Posey would make a great addition though.

If the Heat and Posey are likely to go their separate ways this summer, then I could see a deal since the Spurs can send back an expiring contract(s). The true question: what's the carrot? A 1st round pick? Rights to Scola? Posey's not the greatest, but he'd be a good addition for this Spurs team.

Posey shoots .345 for his career from 3, and if he needs work, we have the Shot Doctor in the house. His two years playing with a dominant post player he's shot .402 and .387. Wasn't Bowen 30 when we picked him up?

Williams and Finley works straight up for Posey, and clears some wing minutes for him. Williams expires, and Fin is cheap for one more year if he doesn't opt out.

^^^That trade does work out very well. Finley probably wouldnt even mind going to Miami seeing as how he almost signed there last year.

I wouldn't mind Posey, if we could trade EWill + filler for him(I dont see that happening though), but giving up Scolas rights for what amounts to a 1/2 season rental of Posey, is not worth it..I'm pretty sure we could get more for Scola in the summer.
