Our bench sucks, so that is no wonder.

They held Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto, Robert Horry, Jacque Vaughn, Michael Finley, Beno Udrih and Francisco Elson to a collective 2-for-18 in 100 minutes played.

Ouch :bang

Bench sucks. If this goes on, we might as well tank for Greg Oden next season.

Maybe its time Pop let James White and Jackie Butler go play some minutes. Anything would be better than 5 points between all those old farts we have manning the bench and several of our starters are getting up in age. Let the youth show what they can do. Like I said anything is better than 5 points from 7 guys. But Pop is too dang stubborn and way too loyal to the vets. We aren't going to win this year AGAIN because of it. Same as last year with Pop's stubborness.

And dont forget the rebounds. 13 total rebounds for all 7. For the Suns, Marion alone had 12 and Amare had a career high 23.

This season was lost last off season when the spurs did not do anything about getting some solid backups or a quality 5.

Game7, 2006 WC Finals, @ATT was a forewarning :

Total bench contribution of Robert + Brent + Nick:

34 min total, 2 pts, 5 RB, 1 AST, 1 T0, 1 BS

Mavs bench: 29 pts, 10 RB

I agree. I argued as the season started that having such an old roster would cause the starters to wear out faster. I was wrong on this point: Pop wound up playing his starters the same amount of minutes, only the bench sucked and we lost more games.

But it was clear at the end of the off-season that we were in trouble, although I imagined Butler actually having some impact this season instead of looking the clueless man-child.

Is anyone willing to give even a slight bit of credit to the Suns improved defense and rebounding?

Improved defense - sure, I guess - they still give up 102 ppg. Improved rebounding? I'm not sure. In their last five games, they only average 38 rpg.

our starters are starting to get it going but our bench is now what is causing us to lose games i noticed that as well 5 points 7 guys that sucks. even charles barkley said if we are going to win we need to make a trade for a good player other than manu to come off the bench and score some points

This is exactly why this not our year. Next season they should just bring over all the guys from Europe we drafted. It can't be any worse! :pctoss
