My wife and I are moving to Lesotho (a small country within South Africa) at the end of this month to volunteer for 12 months.

We will be working with an organisation (Beautiful Gate , www.beautifulgatelesotho.org ) that rescues abandoned babies.

One goal is to help with the healthcare (my wife is a registered nurse and midwife) of the babies whilst they are in our care.

The main goal is to get the children adopted back into the community to families that can look after them or adopted to international families.

I'll be working with the business side of things (which is where my qualifications are). Im going to help create income generating activities for the community, so families and street children can buy food, water etc.

Anyway, the reason i thought id share this with you is because i am approaching pretty much everyone i can about possible financial donations to our work. Whilst we are there we must cover our living costs (due to the organisation being not for profit).

If anyone is interested in donating to this work, or whats for informatiion, then please send me a Private Message and i can chat to you more that way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I know this Nugget fan...he is a solid guy and his wife is lovely. if anyone can afford to help it would be much appreciated; small or large amounts...it does not matter.

That sounds amazing. One of my friends just left on Monday for Africa (probably Ghana...) and another is going to Nigeria after he graduates. Good luck in everything you do!

thanks everyone. Its going to be an awesome and challenging time while we are there. The Besotho people are beautiful people but their country is ravished by aids and poverty (as are many other African countries)

Only a few weeks till we leave now. :clap

Thats an amazing selfless thing to do - due to being a student I'm pretty strapped for cash but I certainly wish you all the best in your endeavors and I'm sure you'll change the lives of many for the better.
