E-News Coordinator - San Antonio Spurs (San Antonio, TX)


The E-News Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing production and deployment of e-mail marketing communications (e-news) for SS&E, and for some routine maintenance of SS&E websites. The E-News Coordinator is the single point of contact for all e-mail newsletter production work.Job Functions • Develops and executes mass e-mail communications in both HTML and text formats with a focus on balancing franchise content with sales messages. • Uses Insight SmartDM management system to build and send e-news. • Oversees the traffic of outgoing messages and is responsible for deployment of all outgoing messages, understanding that we can not over-saturate or confuse customers with excessive quantities or unclear content of messages. • Prepares regularly scheduled e-newsletters, breaking news e-mails, and targeted audience e-mails. Schedules campaigns in advance, sends them on the fly, or automates regular deliveries depending on campaign objectives. • Oversees quality of all e-mail communication that goes out to customers, requiring attention to detail. Focuses on consistency of look and feel, graphics, fonts, spelling, link verification, timing of emails, and other aspects of e-mail quality. Messages should have a consistent tone and look, and complement other elements of the overall organization’s marketing communication mix. • Provides some backup support to routine maintenance of other SS&E websites, including some content gathering and game-day coverage activities. • Assists in providing regular tracking reports, including revenue results, click-through rates, unsubscribe rates and campaign summary reports. • Researches other teams/industries’ best practices (i.e. subscribing to other email newsletters, attending related conferences, participating in league conference calls, etc.), to keep up with the latest technology and design. • Additional duties as assigned by the Internet Manager or Director of E-Commerce.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in e-commerce, marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or related field. • One to three years experience in related field preferred, but not required. Direct e-mail marketing or sports preferred. • The successful candidate will also have knowledge and understanding of Internet, e-mail, excellent communication skills, and familiarity of the sports/event industry. • Beginning to intermediate HMTL skills required. Knowledge of Internet design software (Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Image Ready) preferred. Graphic design and creative skills preferred. Knowledge of video capturing and editing a plus. • Journalism/writing/editing experience preferred. •Strong organizational and communications skills preferred.
