I've made a lot of arguements in other threads of why the Spurs should go for Miller, but it seems like Maggette is still a possibility.

I was wondering who preferes who, and why.

Miller is worthless in the playoffs. I'll go with the other guy.

I don't like Miller's girly-thing in his hair...

Doesn't Fabricio have the same thing?

c. maggs has the attributes the spurs need right now. a slasher who can finish and rebound in addition to hitting his free throws. he's someone who can get opposing teams in foul trouble since the league has made it easier for slashers to get fouls.

Maggette's trade value seems to be declining rapidly due to his persona non grata status with Dunleavy. The Spurs would probably have to give up less to get Maggette, who fills more of the Spurs' needs right now anyway.

And Maggette is less money for less years I believe.

Doesn't Fabricio have the same thing?

not quite. Fab has a rubber band, Miller has a hairband.

Miller can shoot and pass as well as drive, while Maggette can't do either of those things; on the other hand, Maggette's an incrementally better rebounder and gets to the free throw line quite a bit more. On the other other hand, very few players in the NBA have a basketball IQ as low as Corey Maggette's, and Miller isn't as injury-prone.

Neither of them any plays defense.

Yet another similarity is that the Spurs don't have a chance to acquire either of them.

They're both better than Tony Parker.

I'd love to hear you say that when Finley and Barry are averaging HALF of the free throw attempts per game COMBINED that Maggette would (and averaging 80% on those attemps), while jacking up three point shots and hitting 45% at best.

Mike Miller is way better of a player, but I don't think he's going anywhere.

Miller is probably one of my favorite players in the league.
