A team of veterans who don't worry about a few losses during the regular season. All you have to do is get in the top 4 and you are OK. Phil Jackson, who knows a little bit about basketball, still says the Spurs are the team to beat. Let's get ready for the playoffs, because this is when San Antonio brings out the "A" game. Mavs, Suns, Jazz....where is your defense when it counts? GO SPURS GO !!!!

The regular season is for making those little corrections to the offense and defence that are not working. It is the time to show other teams that deep in their minds, they don't want to meet your team in the playoffs. The players may say that they have no fear, but playing a team that has beaten you all year does put those thought in your teams mind, admittedly or not.

The regular season also allows a team to see what players should and should not get minutes in certain situations. "In the fourth with a slight lead, Can we have Barry and Finely on the floor?". That is what you learn and what you learn from.

All you have to do is get in the top 4 and you are OK

Right now the Spurs are bearly holding on to that number spot. They are not "pulling away" and actually are slipping out of that spot. Only the fact that the other teams chasing the Spurs are losing at the same time has kept the Spurs in the three slot.

Phil Jackson, who knows a little bit about basketball, still says the Spurs are the team to beat.

And we all know that Phil never says anything in the press just to send a message to his team ... does he? If Phil was the Spurs coach, would he say that? Has Pop voiced his opinoin about his team and their play? Because if he has, I would listen much more to what he has to say.

Let's get ready for the playoffs, because this is when San Antonio brings out the "A" game.

And this is the heart of the problem. In the first line you say "don't worry about a few losses during the regular season", now its "Let's get ready for the playoffs"

You see the Spurs should be getting ready for the playoffs, but instead of coming together during this road trip and starting a run, they are losing as much as winning. They don't seem to be learning the lessons from those losses (Small ball not working being lesson one).

They need to figure this out before the playoffs ... BEFORE the games really matter, because by then it could be too late.

Mavs, Suns, Jazz....where is your defense when it counts? GO SPURS GO !!!!

I can't speak for the Suns or Jazz defence, but for the Mavs ... Their defence will be in the same place that it has been sense Gams 5 of the regular season this year. It will be "alright" in the first and second quarters. "Very good" in the third quarter, and abolutly murderous in the fouth quarter.

Do you know how I know? Because they have been doing it all season. What have the Spurs been doing all season?
