I saw him yesterday at the valero on I-10 and DeZavala, what the hell would he be doing here? Maybe a 10 day contract?

Are you sure? Wasn't he at Seattle's game yesterday?

Haha. Funny.

Maybe the Spurs are working him out. He has worked out with a lot of NBA teams this year, but so far they all have concluded that he's too fat/slow to make a go of it.

When you have Oberto and Elson in the middle, any living human taller than 6-foot-8 needs to be looked at.

He got there in the 2Q, maybe he was getting a Twinkie for his carry-on before his flight out.

Shawn Kemp @ 300 lbs. and high is better than what the Spurs have now.

I guess he obviously could have flown back...but, it seems kind of a stretch since it was Shawn Kemp night or whatever at the Sonics game.

Good point. Probably the only reason he got in is they wanted the coaching staff to size him up.

Shoog and I saw him a few Months ago in Houston. Unless dude hit some serious workout regime, he's way too out of shape to help out. His chins had chins.

Give em a bag of yay, and he will be the best defender in the league, and prolly start jumping out of the gym again.

it's reported he wants to play in the NBA still, I just don't see how signing him could make the Spurs front court any worse

He'd fit right in with most of our bench. Sounds like the perfect signing.

Shoot, I'll take Cadillac at this point.

While we're at it, I'm sure we could get Charles Smith, J.R. Reid, Larry Smith, Carl Herrera, Will Perdue, whats-his-name from the 05 champs (he was on like 12 teams), even the guy from New Zealand who was on the team for a couple of years. The names escape me.

What's Terry Cummings up to these days?
Never shoulda let him go after the 95 season. The 1995 team would have kicked this year's team's rear end down the street. And that's nothing compared to what our teams from 1999, 2003, 04, 05, and even last year would have done.

That guy from the 05 team is Tony Massenburg. Sean Marks was the New Zealand Guy.

Terry Cummings wasn't the same player after his destroyed his knee in the 90's.

Hell, even Jon Koncak is better than Elson or Oberto right now.

Sadly, we remember Shawn Kemp as the guy with having kids that can field a basketball team and not the guy who put on a show during the 1996 NBA Finals, which in my book was one of the best performances by a guy on a losing team in a magnified series like that one.

i think you should give Keith Van Horn a run at things.

he plays good defense. he has good hip action.....

+1

Plus, he came up big in game 2 of the WCF (same year) vs Karl Malone, playing with 5 fouls for the last 5 minutes of the game.

Even when he was a fatass, he defended Tim better than most I had seen. But that was about 5 yrs ago.
