It's now when.
When will the Spurs make a trade.
We are over-doing our own style of basketball and forcing things we shouldn't.
We are falling into what 90% of the NBA is now.. average teams..

After how the Spurs were cheated last year, it took me months to recover. I asked SR to ban me because incase I was tempted to return, I wouldn't of been able to.

Dallas, Phoenix, and Houston have already stopped us. I am a huge Spurs fan. We are not going to get out of the West unless we get another go to player. I for one would like to see Pau Gasol in a Spurs uniform.
Duncan is on his way down. You want to give him help now like when Duncan came in and helped David Robinson.
We have a great oppertunity to secure are future now. Why wait till Duncan skills diminish futher. I will look back at this time when Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'neal, Pau Gasol, Andre Karalinko, Corey Maggette and others were available and we did nothing.
Make a trade already and not for some bench player.

Because outside of the "Big 3" the Spurs have sooooooooo many assets other teams want to trade a quality player for????
Better hope Isiah wants to trade Channing Frye for Matt Bonner.

The Spurs will make a trade in approximately 12 months.
Hold tight until then.

I still think The Spurs are going to come out of the West. I know you guys are not playing that well right now. After the all star break I can see the Spurs going on a roll. I would move Berry if you can the guy is done.

The question is who do you give up, and whats the price. All the Spurs have played well, just not all at the same time. We are also working against the never trade big for small if we want to get a post player for beno, barry or finley.

they were cheated and over came it, had it not been for one giant mental lapse with about 8 sec to go up by 3.

I like your optimism but honestly, it doesn't sound like you watch a lot of Spurs games. We have serious problems here.

Ok, let's go through each of the players you mentioned one-by-one.
KG?? - What do the Spurs have to trade for KG, they and - this is a long shot - could give up TP and Manu, but that would gut the team of its backcourt and don't get me started on the salaries and everything else that would constitute a trade if this were to happen, WHICH I WOULDN'T EVEN DREAM ABOUT. KG doesn't want to be traded according to reports and there is no way in hell he would land here....
JO - Spurs contacted him during the Summer of 2003 when he was a free agent and there was some mutual interest but JO decided to stay Indy, which history has proven, most team's best players stay w/ their respective teams after exploring the open market (Shaq didn't stay w/ the Magic in the summer of 96 but it was no secret he wanted to go out West to LA and Grant Hill didn't stay w/ the Pistons in the 2000 free agency period but then again, people assumed he wasn't going to stay in Motown anways).
Gasol - Who the Spurs have outside of the big three the Grizz would want for him. If the Grizz are asking for Luol Deng and Ben Gordon from the Bulls, I'm sure they would want Manu or TP from the Spurs for his services......
AK-47 - The Spurs had him targeted in the 99 draft and even tried to trade up to get him, but alas, the Jazz took him before the Spurs could swing a deal to move up to get him.....
Maggette - Again, who does the Spurs have outside of the big three, maybe Barry or even Beno, and expiring contract of Eric Williams, that could interest the Clipps, but then again, that's hardly enticing trading blocks....

When were any of them available?
Pau Gasol and Corey Maggette are being shopped this season, but I wouldn't call any of the rest of them available.
KG wanted to stay in Minny and did. JON wanted to stay in Indy and did. Etc.
To get Pau Gasol, you'd have to give up Tony and/or Manu.
Maggette is the only one of those that the Spurs have or have had any reasonable shot at getting.

And is Maggette really the answer? Unless he plays out of his mind we have players that can do close to what he does and we don't have to pay his contract. We need a big or a point. I don't know who of that we could get.

Maggette averages more rebounds than any other Spur other than Duncan. He also gets to the line a hell of a lot. So, to me, he's almost as good as picking up a big :lol

Rebounds is a good point, I still think it's a last ditch only take it if they lower the price deal. Plus once he dawns silver and black he will forget how to shoot free throws so getting to the line isn't always a good thing :)

it's a matter of when will the mini rebuild start because if the spurs dont win anything championships w/i the next 3 stretching to possibly 4 yrs, it's rebuilding time.

True, so why does Pop not demand that Finley/Bruce/Barry drive the ball to the rack? Sits on his ass again while Findawg goes 1-7 on treys today.
Bruce an ow-fer. Pop not only does not demand it and simply condone it, it's as if he encourages it.

Maggette sure would have help the ailing offense and rebounding on Friday night versus the Magic. I would have much rather him have the ball in his hands during the late stages of a game rather than Bowen. That's all I could think of while watching Bowen saunter to the FT line and clang those two FTs.
Still don't know why Bowen was in the game at that point.

He was actually subbed in just right before that possession. Maybe Pop thought the Spurs were on defense and mixed up the subs. :drunk That's the only thing that explains pulling out Barry for Bowen right then.

That's bullshit!
There's no one on this roster, outside of Manu, that can do the things offensively that Maggette can do. And Manu is nowhere near the physical rebounding phenom that Maggette is. THat's the problem.
The guys we have on this team act as though they're afraid to "mix it up". I see more of them tapping the ball back out to half court rather than going up strong and securing it.

I'm not saying Maggerre is not a good player. I'm just saying the Spurs have gotten into a hole of picking up 2-3 players because they are available, now we're stacked with them and have no depth at center or point. before we exchange gaurd forwards lets address the problem. Now that being said if we get a good deal and pick up maggette I would be welcoming him with open arms. but leave some trade bait for what we need.

I hear you on Jason Kapono. That still irks the shit out of me.
Hell remember Amare Stoudamire had a career high 23 rebs against the Spurs. Can you imagine how much damage Carlos Boozer would have done had he played? As it stands, Mehmet Okur went for his usual double-double against the Spurs.
The Spurs have somehow become the perfect antidote for struggling players to get their "swagger" back. Somehow opposing players seems to easily generate a "career game" versus our boys.

The problem is they're stacked with the WRONG type of players. Old players (Finley and Barry) who are both long-in-the-tooth and generally have the same physical and mental weaknesses.

I just don't feel good with our 2 and 3 positions stacked and vaughn, horry and oberto being the rest of our bench. Assuming Clippers want Beno.
