How bad is Eric Williams?
I ask this question because neither Barry or Finley can guard his own shadow, yet Williams can't seem to get on the floor. In my opinion he has played reasonably well when he had the opportunity. And, his defense seems more than adequate. At a time when we need people who can step up the defensive pressure, he can hardly get on the floor.
So my question is How Bad is this guy? Is he really worse that either Barry or Finely, defensively?

he was decent in the little amount of playing time he had.

No, he's a pretty decent defender.

If he is a better defender, can you please epeculate why Pop does not play him

He is basically given the same role as bonner, if it weren't for an injury Bonner would still be riding the bench, so it would probably take an injury to both Barry and Finley for Williams to get any minutes.
In all honesty I have been hoping that Pop would play Williams, he is a 6'9 SF who plays defense and rebounds; I think that is the one problem with the spurs lineup they have too many old players who's specialty is scoring not defense and rebounding.
You can't teach rebounding, look at players like Josh Howard who on every position hit the boards, doesn't matter what side of the court they are on.

True. Basically he's just the odd man out.
But at this point, I'd like to give him 10 minutes a game and see if he can do something with it, then go from there.

If Pop cannot find minutes for a productive player like this who gives them some productivity they aren't getting from others, he SHOULD be resign.

This shit with Pop is really getting ridiculous. We need help. Either play the fucking players that could potentially help us, or make a damn trade already.

Williams situation is quite strange : he fits a Spurs' need (Strong defensive SF), has been good when he has had playtime but he doesn't play.
I guess that he doens't play because he has show nothing in practice and/or Pop doesn't want to use him because he wants to give more playtime to Barry/Finley (raising their level of confidence has been Pop's priority this year).

... or because the Spurs have no intention of him being on the team down the stretch.
