He hit a bunch of threes in that 18 point comeback in Houston. Rob pretty much carried the team in that third quarter when they trimmed the Rockets lead from 18 to like 4.

Horry is that wiley veteran who does the intangibles. Some nights, he just can't do it because he doesn't have it in the tank. But when he's feeling good, you can tell. He's very active. My favorite Horryism is when he acts like he's running down the court and baits a bad pass from a young player. He steals it, steps back for three and drains the shot.

He needs to assume a Danny Ferry role. But as far as i'm concerned he hit the best shot in Spurs history.

Bigger than the memorial day miracle (Sean Elliot) ?

Ironically, both were over the same guy.

Was Horry's shot over 'sheed? I know he's the one who left him to double. I assume he was the one going back to cover his guy. Elliots shot was over him, obviously.

Nevermind. Horry's was over Tayshaun...but 'sheed was to blame for leaving him wide open.

They both involved the same guy. Stacey Augmon tried to steal the inbounds from Elie, I think, causing Sheed to rotate to block Elliott's shot.

Versus Detroit, Sheed doubled down on Manu in the corner, forcing Prince to come from the lane to try to block Horry's shot.

So Sheed was involved in both.

well, the 2005 Finals were 2 years ago, and there's only been 1 Finals since then. So there hasn't been any opportunities other than the 2006 playoffs for him to hit big shots for the Spurs. But as many people have commented here before, in 2006 he seemed tired and resembled the 2004 Lakers Horry, who had played too many minutes in the regular season. Pop seems determined to limit his minutes this year in hopes he'll be fresh for the 2007 playoffs.

I keep hoping that he will be revived in the playoffs but at present I think the SPurs may have relied on him for one or two years too many.

Horry's heroics blinded the FO in 2005. Which is why we got stuck with the white elephant that is Finley.

Horry's "big shots" are always in the post season, not regular season games, for the most part anyway.

Yes both very similiar, the only real difference was that the ball went directly to elliot on the inbounds pass and he was way less open than Horry. That would be the only reason I would give it to elliot as the best clutch shot in spurs history.
