Last year, we were supposed to be the best team in the league.
Right now, i don't see us up there anymore. The Suns, the Mavs, the Jazz, the Rockets (with Yao) and the Heats (with Big Shaq) are better teams.
I see us playing in the second categories along with the Lakers, the Pistons, the Nets, the Cavs and the Clippers...
The good news is there's a solution!!
We need Steve N., Dirk N., Carlos B., Yao M. and Big Shaq out during playoff... Injuries are spurs only hope now...

Top 5, no doubt. We're just in a bad, bad phase right now.

top 5?
suns, mavs, heat, jazz, rockets
i don't see us beating none of these teams (with their franchise players on the floor)

You forgot to list the Pistons with those teams, by the way. They're really clicking right now.

Another fun thread. Uh... I didn't think we had it when the season began, thought we were old and unathletic. Still didn't expect to win .500 in January. It's like we're any other team. Kind of lousy, kind of good.

you're right but i think their momemtum is behind them now..
Unlike the Cavs or the Mavs, the pistons' futur looks full of desillusions

Based on how we're playing RIGHT NOW, we're not as good as the Suns, the Mavs, or the Pistons right now. But we're right there with the rest of the league, who have all been equally inconsistent.

I'd still say that spurs are in the top five, along with Dallas, Phoenix, Utah, and Houston.

I think it will be determined in the next two weeks, whether we're top 5 worthy, or middle rung level!

Aghhh..

Let's see here...
1. Phoenix
2. Dallas
3. Detroit
4. Heat
5. Jazz
6. Rockets
7. LA
8. SPURS

Could make a case for switching LA and Spurs but no doubt we're out of the top 5 and on our way to being a middle of the pack ball club.

In a seven game series, I hate to say it, but I think we would have trouble with all of the teams in the top 6 or 7--interestingly though, I think we would defeat the Suns in a seven game match up.

Teams will struggle during the course of a season. But, I actually think the game against the Heat is more of an indication than most games. It was a marquee Sunday afternoon game. The Heat have been unimpressive despite their recent win streak, which included wins against Milwaukee twice without Michael Redd, Charlotte, and Boston.

Even without Shaq in the fourth quarter, an average Heat fan handled the Spurs rather handily, granted it was at Miami.

I wouldn't sleep on the Spurs because of their experience, coaching, and Tim Duncan. But, I am not convinced they are a top 5 team in the league, and they are barely a top 5 team in the Western Conference.

But, that can easily change by the time the post season is here.

Top 3.

Mavs
Spurs
Suns

We'll see how the rest of the frauds fall out in the coming weeks.

here is the nba top 5 in order.
e. the mavs have beat them 2-1 this year

:nope
Suns haven't beaten the Mavs this season. The series currently sits at 2-0 with games to come on 3/14 and 4/1.
