Single as in unmarried? Or single as in no significant other?

And why is there a difference between single and divorced when filling out forms?

all around me are familiar faces
worn out places
worn out faces
bright and early for the daily races
going no where
going no where
their tears are filling up their glasses
no expression
no expression
hide my head i wanna drown my sorrow
no tomorrow
no tomorrow
and i find i kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
the dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people run in circles its a very very
mad world
mad world

Valentine's is not a big deal in my house.

I buy my kids candy and then eat it all when they're not looking...

What was the $1200 gift?

It was an engagement ring.

I decided against the purse for a few different reasons but I'll probably get her a little something still.

And by the way that guy only appraises rings sold there, or something like that..

Was it jewelery?

Guys, here is a tip for those of you that want to get something nice for the lady in your life.
The Hearts on Fire diamonds are the way to go. I got her an anniversary ring last June made of those diamonds and the ring sparkles like it is battery powered or something.

Here are the earrings that I just got her from David Gardner Jewelers here in town for Valentine's Day.

Call me nitpicky but I hate the term single.

I am not alone... I have plenty of friends and I am available to date.

I like today way better than VD because all the candy is on sale.

that sounds like something a lonely person would say :p:

I don't have time to be lonely with two jobs and tons of great friends to spend my free time with.

That said, when the right guy comes along, I will be more than happy to date him. :)

There is nothing wrong with being single. Just like there is nothing wrong with being in a relationship. If you're single, other people act surprised when finding out and assume it's because someone left you or that no one wants you. It seems obvious to them that you have some fatal flaw that scares people away. You're a slut, player, have commitment issues, are bat-shit crazy, financially unsound, etc.

It's all perception.

When I was young and stupid (as opposed to my current old and stupid) I asked my first girlfriend to marry me and we were engaged for almost 2 years.

It's one of those silly "family stories" now, but my grandmother's senile old sister-in-law was visiting and when she found out I was engaged at 18, she said (in front of the entire mini-family reunion) "I don't know why you want to get married, hon...there's a girl on every street corner!"

:lmao

"Prostitutes, and the distant, elderly relatives who pimp them, on the next Maury"

Most of my friends are either on their way to marriage already, or desperately hoping to be, but view the idea of me settling down as completely ridculous. My natural instinct is very relationship oriented, but I think that, being the daring little bi girl, I've become the intended source of my friends' vicarious thrills for the next several years.
