Who cares? Has to be the least meaningful award in the NBA. You go play rec ball for an afternoon and come home with an ugly round Plexglass trophy.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. IMO, the whole All Star weekend is a joke.

Yeah, of course the game is meaningless, but the players and fans enjoy it. I have a feeling the west will win this one, because any team that has CARON BUTLER as an all-star is destined for failure. :lol Kobe for MVP.

Steve Nash

If the West loses, Nash being out will show how important he is to the West team.

at the half, it's either Tony or Melo...sorry Dirk fans.

Should the East pull the comeback/upset, it looks to go to LBJ.

nba.com box score for the all star game has ANTHONY PARKER instead of TONY PARKER in the box score. Who's Anthony Parker?

Looks like another MVP award for the Laker franchise. :)

Amare looked great... very close to MVP. Oh well. Kobe got that last dunk that erased any doubt. Terrible game, but I liked seeing the Suns do so well.

i'm glad kobe won it, i didn't want amare to win it and i knew d'antoni was keeping him in there at the end of the fourth to see if he (amare) could get it done, haha

dang, those of you who picked dirk, wtf were you thinking?!?!?! i love dirk like no one else except jho but that quiet, big white lanky boy isn't going to showboat and win such a thing like AS MVP, evah'

Don't you think if D'Antoni really wanted Amare to win MVP he'd have taken Kobe out and played someone with a lesser chance of winning? I don't think there was a backscript to things. D'Antoni played Amare because he was one of the few big men that actually cared to do anything other than shoot. he hit the boards hard, attempted to contest shots and made some solid passes within the halfcourt set. True, I'm biased, but I watched the entire game and Amare was hardly jacking up illadvised shots. Some, yes, but nothing like Kobe and LeBron. They'd pull up from 25-feet routinely.
