Basketball GTG - Just brainstorming in this thread.

I read a thread back discussing one, did anything materialize from that?

If nothing else, you guys can come up to Lifetime and we can run some full court. Ward gym isn't a bad idea either. We could figure out a time that works for everybody (or most everybody) and a reasonable place.


So if you're interested:

1) What days DON'T work for you?
2) What part of town would you prefer it be on?

It will definately be after 6 pm if it's on a weekday.

If it's on a weekend, depends whenever people can make it.

Damn it sounds fun if i could still run and gun. My knee wouldnt hold up from my injury in a full court game. Im like Webber now, I can shoot with hardly any lift and pass. do u usually play for somethin or what? :rolleyes :depressed

Not really.

Just play for fun. The last time it was pretty competitive. We had it over at Ward gym. Eriks, Butta, Orion, JcRod, and me and my cousin along with a few other posters showed up and we ran 5-on-5.


I mean I'm going to play either way. I do 2-3 times a week at the gym. But it's nice to put faces and personalities and game with some of these posters.

it's kinda by timberwilde elementary... right where grissom, culebra, and tezel meet there is a heb... down grissom there is the great northwest library... the street that that's on leads straight to it... they're is a pretty good sized park there with a skate park, baseball field, soccer field, 2 way basketball court and playground. i'm going in a little bit to get my ball pumped and am gonna shoot around for an hour or two to get my shooting touch back...

why the money? i'm just looking for some fun games... i dont feel like taking y'alls money.

damn... it's been a loooong time since i've hooped... the last time i played some guy kicked my foot head on when he was trying to drive by me... my sock got soaked with blood and my toe nail eventually fell off... that shit sucked.

i was playing defense normally... he was trying to drive by me and i was moving laterally. he probably thought that since he couldnt go around me.. he'd go through me and his right foot hit my left foot with full force.


i just got back from the court... it's not bad... next time i go i'll get pics.

it has a slight incline... but nothing to really complain about... it was pretty breezy today so i couldnt really gauge my long ball that much. the rims were a bit unforgiving... rarely would the ball roll in ... if it's not hitting all net... chances are it's a miss. it might have been that my ball had a bit too many psi ... but it's probably a combination of the rim and the ball. place was dead empty today, and i'd reckon the only times it would be busy would be the 2-3 hours after the elementary down the street gets out and probably the weekend.

i used to go to OP schnabel all the time... to play soccer and football when i was a kid... it used to be just a bunch of fields encompassed by woods... now they fixed it all up and i dont know where anything is anymore.

I've played there a few times. Its nice a shady but I used to love going down to Rimkus and playing on those 9 foot rims

lmao... im picky with my rims... i always think that if i shoot on 9 foot rims i'll fuck up my mechanics...

i also wont touch double rims.

hopefully next time out i can get my touch back. i probably only made about 10% of my shots but that's to be expected since i havent picked up a basketball in ... almost a fucking year... damn.

I cut down on the arc of my shot and i had better results. also, i over inflated both of my balls... i need let some air out of em. ones a NBA street ball and the other is the indoor/outdoor one. the bounces were long and since it's so damn dry you can't really get a good grip on the ball.

i know these sound like excuses... but they really do make a difference.

today would have been perfect for me to shoot around since it's not as windy as yesterday ... but i'm gonna be busy in about an hour. hopefully everyone can get something set up soon.
