From National Review (http://hillaryspot.nationalreview.com/)

John Edwards:

Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities.

Oops.

Short-term, what other known threat has been described as imminent?

And which would have the widest impact?

Frankly irrelevent, CD. We're talking anti-defamation league sensibilities here (which I, no doubt, just offended).

I'm glad you consider world peace irrelevant.

Didn't say that.

I am sorry if I have not been clear.

My point was not to debate the merits of John Edward's comment.

What was Edwards thinking speaking the truth like that?

The thought has merit.

Jews might get upset?

So what?

As I understand it, not a group you want to piss off, by reputation. And, historically speaking, our politicians have pretty much lived by that mantra. I guess it is somewhat knee-jerk of me to see it as a blunder of Edward's to (possibly) piss them off. We will see, I guess, if other (just about all) politicians fear is founded.

It's easy to see what he meant, given the Iranians' stated willingness to negotiate (take that for what it's worth, but it is stated). It's also easy to see a conditional apology forthcoming ("If I offended anyone...").

Absolutely corect.

Am I correct in saying: didn't Iran say they were going to wipe out Israel. Am I also correct in assuming they meant what they said. Or does no nation have a right to defend itself?

Wonder why Edwards didn't mention the above facts while he was expounding on his "threats to world peace"?

According to Edwards, Israel isn't a threat. Wait...What?? (http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=6116471)

Oh, Gee!!

an attack right now on Iran by Israel (or the US) probably would cause havoc.
