http://sportsbybrooks.com/nbc-tonight-show-interviewer-mitch-fatel-asks-tony-parker-when-the-spurs-will-surrender-12305.php

Comedian Mitch Fatel (funny guy, BTW, and recently in SA) went around asking questions to the All-Stars...this is what he asked Tony.

The piece de la resistance came when Fatel asked Tony Parker, "Since you’re French, do you ever just want to surrender in the middle of a game?"

Parker was left speechless, then proceeded to raise an eyebrow and give Fatel a dirty look. Priceless.

Hilarious. Uh, we should ask him about Freedom Fries or something. Then ask if his girlfriends used to shave their armpits. Then call him a frog. Gold. Comedy gold.

You've got a good point. Fatel should have asked Tony to explain how an expiring contract can benefit a team.

Be just as funny as tired-ass surrender jokes. At least Parker didn't ask Fatel if he was going to render suspects to Uzbekistan in order to be tortured.

When has he shown up during the playoffs? I remember Speedy having to spell him during critical times in the 2003 playoffs and him doing nothing in 2005.

Like when he outplayed Kidd in games 1,2, and 5 of the 2003 Finals? When he was hitting circus shots in Kidd's and Mutombo's faces all throughout the fourth quarter of game 2 of the 2003 Finals? Or when he destroyed Nash in the 2005 WCF? Or when he made Payton look 50 in 2002 and 2004? Or when he dropped 19 in a quarter in Dallas' building in the 03 WCF?

Hahahaha! Nobody made jokes about French surrendering before!

Well, surrender or not, Parisians sure are nice people, as I found out during a trip to Paris last month for a week. Every single person I interacted with was very friendly. Seriously, my trip there killed all anti-French stereotypes I've ever heard. In fact, I'm willing to drop the surrender smack because of it.

Well, Parker did average 20.4 ppg in the 2005 West Finals. He also dropped 21 on Kidd in Game 2 of the 2003 Finals and 26 in Game 3. And he did rip Payton in the 2002 First Round, averaging 17.2 on 53% from the floor. And in 2 games the Spurs absolutely had to have in Dallas in the 2003 West Finals, he dropped 29 and 25 while shooting almost 50% from the floor. But you're right, Parker has never gotten anything important done at playoff time. Guys with 17 ppg playoff averages over an 80 game stretch are a dime-a-dozen these days in the NBA:

Has Parker had some bad playoff games? Absolutely. His 1-12 in Game 4 of the Finals was an epic stinker; and he certainly has had some struggles in the latter games of series through the years. But: (1) he's made himself a guy who can force teams to alter their defenses throughout the series because they must account for him, which accounts to an extent for the drop-offs over time; and (2) he's come up huge in a number of playoff games, particularly on the road, that the Spurs had to win:

Game 6 at Sacramento last season (11-20, 31 pts);

Games 1 (13-22, 29 pts) and 2 (12-20, 24 pts) of the 2005 WCF at Phoenix;

Game 3 of the 2003 Finals at New Jersey (9-21, 26 pts);

Games 3 (13-23, 29 pts) and 4 (9-22, 25 pts) of the 2003 WCF at Dallas;

Game 6 of the 2003 West Semis at LA (9-19, 27 pts);

Game 3 of the 2003 First Round at Phoenix (12-21, 29 pts);

Game 3 of the 2002 First Round at Seattle (10-15, 23 pts).

Say what you will about him, but few Spurs have ever had as many big playoff games in big moments for his team as Tony Parker has.

Because torture has never been shown time and again to degrade a society's soul. You watch too much "24", little man. I could just as easily have said "invade unthreatening nations for fun and personal profit" but I figured that was obvious.

you're right. in order to defeat these subhumans, we've got to start acting like them. we should start by pulling all muslims out of their homes, putting them in mass interment camps, and killing them all with gas. let's televise this too to show the rest of the world we mean business. then, we should invade every country who doesn't think like we do and install a regime friendly to our demands and economic intrests. conversekid is on to something here. when all is said and done, and after we have killed billions of people in the name of safety and peace, this world will be a better place. :rolleyes

I renew Manny's post about getting you laid, Boutons...

I imagined the above reactions from the Church of Tony, but damn.

Here's the rest since I doubt the link was actually clicked and a lot of people probably think this was a calculated move to insult the San Antonio Spurs.

Fatel interviewed several NBA all-stars. The highlights, of course, were Fatel's questions ...

To Vince Carter of the New Jersey Nets: "I have to live in New Jersey because I don’t make a lot of money. What’s your excuse?"
Carter: "I have to also."

Fatel to Dikembe Mutombo: "Is it true that Madonna tried to adopt you?"

Fatel to LeBron James: "What the hell is a Cavalier?"
James: "It’s a guy that carries around a sword that might stab you."

Fatel to Kobe Bryant: "What would you say is worse: fouling out or having to watch Shaq’s movie ‘Kazaam’ again?"
Bryant: "Probably watching the ‘Kazaam’ movie, I’d say."

Oh those poor little terrorists getting tortured... the humanity... what do you base your comments on? Top secret briefings you have access to every day? Or off of CNN? You have no idea what goes on by those subhuman creatures.
