Secret Service is keeping the media away from the entrance to the White House; fire truck is outside the White House, black smoke was seen but has now dissipated.

Man sets himself on fire outside White House - AP

WHITE HOUSE - A man has apparently tried to set himself on fire outside the White House fence.

Witnesses say the incident took place outside the Northwest gate. Uniformed Secret Service agents were seen rushing to surround the man, who had graying hair and glasses. He was heard screaming in pain.

TV cameras captured the aftermath. Smoke hung in the air around the man as paramedics rushed to provide aid. The man appeared to be clutching his hand in pain, but it's unclear how serious his burns are.

Obviously, it's Bush's fault along with the "Neocons" and the Smoking Man or whatever.

Actually, I'm kinda surprised it wasn't danny boy who did that. Feeling a bit warm today, eh danny?

He made a decision on his own to bring attention to his protest, it may have been done as a result of Bush's policies, but it was this mans own decision to do this and it looks like it worked.

Budhists protesting but it had nothing to do with the Vietnam War. They just protested the Diem governments anti-Buddhist policies.

Idiot only burned 30% of his body. Stupid liberals cant even protest right. Seriously - how hard is it to cover yourself in gas and drop a match?

Not hard, but unlike the buddists, he had secret servicehumans near by who put him out rather quickly.

Yeah what a fool...he should of at least shown the discipline of the Buddhist monk and be quiet and just sit still while he burned slowly.

I never said that he was a master at the practices of Buddists, I would scream like a girl too if I were burning, I unlike them dont have all that inner peace, alternate levels of conciousness thing going on.

Be it far from me to inject a note of seriousness here... but dang... burns have got to be the most painful thing you can experience... to imagine one of those monks lighting themselves and sitting there calmly... that's seriously freaky.

Spring Summer Fall Winter Spring has a depiction of that ... it's freaky but also incredibly sad (not to mention the monk in the film has pieces of paper over his eyes and mouth that have the word "shut" written on them). That's a lot of sadness that would cause a person to do something that drastic.

Turns out this cat (Mohamed Alanssi ) was an informant for the FBI, and was being denied visitation with his family in Yemen, who BTW, are being harassed because his name was leaked. Yet another Plame game by the administration. No wonder this administration is causing a high level exodus from the CIA.
