i hear they take quite a few liberties with actual events, but that whitaker is great. then again from what i was told by someone who grew up in the area showing what really happened would be unwatchable.
The Queen apparently took a lot of liberties too. Though I highly doubt the reality is unwatchable.

Well, the Scottish doctor is completely fictional for one, but most of it's credible. Most things I've read about Amin would be unwatchable though.
he was speaking more of events portrayed in the movie. since i haven't seen it, we didn't have an in depth discussion - he said it could have been better, but that it was good and whitaker was amazing.

I don't like Jack's new look.

I like it!

Fast Times at Ridgemont High should get some kind of honorable Oscar...it had 3 future best actor winners in it's cast...

I'll have to see this King of Scottland movie, but to me it's going to be hard for Whittaker to top Jefferson or the cop in Blood Sport...both all time classic films.

Actually, Forest's best role to date was as Charlie Parker in Bird. He should have been nominated for that.

Beg Pardone...but the cop in Blood Sport can't be topped by any musicopic. And neither can Jefferson...plus, he was never supported by anyone close in talent to Jean Claude Van Damme in any other movie.

You just don't know quality cinema when you see it.

BattleField Earth was quite possibly the worst movie ever made...I would only mention that movie in jest. I'm serious about Jefferson and the Blood Sport guy :smokin

Jefferson ruled, that was so funny.

it is quite an achievement - travolta's love for his demigod overlord came out that badly. that is awesome.

By the way, the previews of this new Travolta flick with Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen indicate major suckitude.

In all seriousness, he's been one of my favorite actors for a long time, and I'm very happy he was acknowledged.

the protector beat any bone breaking scene i have seen in any movie - there were probably at least 50 in one of those final scenes.

Silly Old bear. You wear the style well. Imitated but never duplicated. :)

Have I been sleeping?
I’ve been so still
Afraid of crumbling
Have I been careless?
Dismissing all the distant rumblings
Take me where I am supposed to be
To comprehend the things that I can’t see

Cause I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

And as a child
I danced like it was 1999
My dreams were wild
The promise of this new world
Would be mine
Now I am throwing off the carelessness of youth
To listen to an inconvenient truth

That I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

I am not an island
I am not alone
I am my intentions
Trapped here in this flesh and bone

And I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

I want to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Oh, Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
