Well, since I can leech off of my GF's computer right now if I need to and I want to get eye surgery ... I'm selling my laptop, here's the specs:

17" Widescreen (1920x1200)
Pentium M 1.6Ghz Dothan
2GB DDR2-533
60GB 7200rpm 2.5" HD
nVidia GeForce Go 7800GTX w/ 256MB
Atheros Wireless LAN, 802.11a/b/g
8x DL DVD-RW

It's in good condition, no dead/stuck pixels, dings or scratches. Slight wear on the palm rests (that should be a given!) This machine is great, and I haven't run into a game I haven't been able to play.

It's mostly meant as a desktop replacement ... pretty heavy, around 10lbs. I'll throw in my backpack ... I might be interested in trading someone who has a smaller laptop + cash, at least $500. I'm selling it for $1,050.

I do not think $1100 is enough to help you out. I think the surgery will cost a tad more to help your problem......

I seriously hope the $1000 is just part of your expense, because if you're getting your eyes fixed for that much, I'd be a little cautious.

yeah... typically it's about $1,500 per eye. at least it was around the time I got mine done, in 2003. hopefully it is only part of his expense.
edit: oops sorry I think I got mine done in 2004 :oops

I'm sure he'd like his eyes not to fall out a few weeks later.

all I can say is, the more expensive the surgery, the better. don't let the fools rip you off with a cheap price and make you go blind, it's not worth it. good luck!
