Lp26
03-03-2007, 11:30 PM
That's pretty much been their MO in close games. They play you tough, but their execution sucks down the stretch partly due to coaching and the fact that they don't have a true PG (or good guards for that matter)

I remember them winning one game in recent memory w/ crunch time execution, and that was against the Bulls who sometimes have the same 4th quarter problem.

schadenfreude52

I'm developing a program for this forum, in order to save Spurs fans some time. Any time a Mavs fan says anything remotely positive about his team, this reply will pop up so that all the Spurs fans don't have to write it. So here's my test program run here.

Automated Spurs Fan Reply: Whoopdee-fuckin-doo you haven't won a title, have a cigar for winning in the regular season, we're merely jealous that your team is playing so well, but of course we'll just deny it and insecurely throw out the fact that we have 3 rings, oh and we'll kick your ass in the playoffs, when it matters, so watch out.

Do you guys like it? I'll implement it here soon.

they will...it didn't help that devin was in foul trouble and fouled out and we don't have devean george back who usually plays some good minutes. also, i don't think buckner is his usual self yet. anyway, it was only josh and terry who played 40 minutes and we only have one game in the next seven days and that's two days from now.

Mavs trail by two at the half. Orlando shoots 62% from the field in the second half. In the 4th quarter Dirk hits two clutch threes, a clutch driving three point play and a key two pointer where he faked Darko out of his jock. Terry and Howard add a couple of key buckets. Dallas wins the game.

Hmmm...another meaningless regular season win for the "choking" Mavs?

Meanwhile, over in the Spurs forum, everyone is getting wood about their pummeling of the Yao-less Rockets.

Yep, I agree, I don't see any way that the Mavs could possibly beat the Spurs come playoff time. Of course, I (along with virtually ALL Spurs fans) thought the same thing last year.

Hey MavFan, beating the Magic is akin to beating a D-League team. So whatever. We'll kick your ass in the playoffs. Beno Udrih is our secret weapon. Popovich, in all his genius, is telling him to suck on purpose, so that he'll take everybody by surprise when he unleashes hell come playoff time.

And we're not getting wood from beating the Rockets. We're getting wood from thinking about our three titles. What's your reason for getting wood, huh? Probably something lame like seeing a hot girl.

The funny thing about all this is, if the Mavs were behind the Spurs in the standings, then Spurs fans would go nuts about how the Mavs are inferior to the Spurs. But since the Mavs are way ahead... well, then I guess it doesn't mean anything at all. :rolleyes

Quite true, just don't generalize Spurs fans and claim we don't give you respect on a forum dedicated and meant for Spurs fans.
