Also...

The 2008 BMW M3 will compete with the new Audi S5 coupe when both go on sale in the U.S. in less than a year. The M3’s extra 55 or so horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and lighter weight promise to deliver a more raw experience than that of the all-wheel-drive Audi, but we expect the M3 will cost thousands more.

Oh, I see, it's how you define "problem." Lemme guess, anything covered by warranty is not a "problem," and you've never had an Audi that wasn't under warranty.

Now if you've avoided the 1.8T and 2.0T engines like the plague, your chances are better.

My A6 we bought an extended warranty for. I had that car for 5 years. The A4 was a 1.8T and had that for 4 years. *shrugs*

Anyway...it was a fun car to drive, so much so, that I put 75,000 miles on it in 2 years. Although, I did drive from San Juan Capistrano to Corona 5 days a week.

Some history...

Then, in 1987, VW introduced a 16 valve engine for the GTI. The engine was being sold in the Scirocco since 1986, powered by a 123hp version (in the US). The GTI also got the 123hp version, which was still a 1.8l, but now with a 16v head. The GTI 16v made up for the power-lacking problem, and more. The 16v version had slightly lowered suspension, bigger anti-roll bars, and stiffer springs to make up for the extra weight in the front of the car. Also, the 16v had a few little things in the engine compartment to make it smoother than an 8 valve, like piston oil squirters to keep the bottom end a little cooler, and standard power assisted steering. Volkswagen kept everything the same for a few more years, until 1990.

BMW are no more unreliable than Mercedes or Audi. Actually as of today they are more reliable than both.

They're European, sounds like you need a japanese car.

and that infiniti, is faster than a bmw 328 and 530 that's all. all the other models wip it's ass

BTW new BMWs come with 50,000 full warranty, so you don't pay a dime for the 1st 50,000 miles.

GM is putting the 7 liter V8 in the CTS-V for 2008, they are gunning for AMG and AMG only, sadly BMW's Morotsport division will be in 3rd place in this horsepower race.

yeah, thats right the same motor in the current ZO6 will be in the CTS-V next year.

Also the ZO6-R is still in the testing phase, also codenamed the "Blue Devil" All I can say about that is Blown is a key word when describing the differences.

yes bmw could be #3 in straight line race. But when you involve turns, BMW easily becomes #1.

Actually Porsche make most balanced cars for around 100k. BMW comes next. ALL the competition comes later.
