Spurs didn't have or need luck in the second round. Mavs needed it. We were up 3 in the closing minute of Game 7.
And lost. Because smallball can't keep anyone out of the paint.

1.Beno Udrih started the flurry
2 & 3. and Ginobili made back-to-back 3s to cut the lead to 92-91.
4. After a Blazers turnover, Udrih knocked in another 3 with 1:07 left to give the Spurs their first lead since 1-0.

5. Finley dropped in a 24-foot 3-pointer with 35.9 seconds left and Ginobili scored on a driving finger role to complete a 14-4 run.

may i ask if the Spurs hitting all 5 3 pointers in a row w/o a miss a franchise record?

The play nobody talked about was after the Spurs trailed by 7 with 2:15 remaining and Manu had hit two consecutive 3s to get the Spurs within 1, Manu dug out that ball on Brandon Roy's drive and dislodged it forcing it to go off Aldridge and OB for a TO. The stat line simply states B. Roy TO but that was all Manu. That got the ball right back for Manu to dribble drive and kick to the corner to Fin setting up the Beno 3 pointer to put the Spurs up to stay.

MANUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Wow... he saved the day despite small ball. Hmm.. i thought Elson was brought in to combat small ball.

Oberto wasn't given much of a chance to prove himself either.
What was Pop thinking!??!!
