Finley has been playing well since that Lakers game

Besides I think he only signed a 2 year contract.

Finley is our X Factor this year. If he's on, I love our chances.

Glad the Law of Averages has finally swung in his favor. Just hope he's not peaking too early.

Eh, he started playing this way the same time last year, and he played darn good in the playoffs.

I think Mike is gonna ruin his former club in May. There couldn't be more motivation for the guy, probably more than everyone else on the squad. Manu is a close 2nd after the foul. Don't forget Terry and his johnson pounding incident, Mike!

Um, not to be a wet blanket, but isn't it kinda sad when his best shooting game of the year is 50%? He was 8 of 16 for 20 points. 20 points on 16 shots isn't THAT great. Plus only one FT attempt. He'd be a lot more productive player if he could ever get to the line.

Three of eight from the three point line. Hello playoffs.

Fins might have finally broken the wet vagina curse that plagued Barry his first season with the Spurs

Stupid title to the thread for reasons stated above, but I get the point. Whenever Finley touches the ball the opposing commentators or the national broadcasters talk about his slump this year....then he rails of 15 on 6/7 FG and 3/4 from 3pt, which I love. The point is that his much celebrated "slump" has long since past, and though he can put up some stinkers every once in a while, he is generally a productive reserve. I hate the idea of him as the small ball 4, but if he continues to score like he has been, it might lessen my hatred of the idea...maybe.

Side Note: I hope Finley continues to do well for two reasons. First, and most obvious, is that him playing well gives the Spurs a better chance at taking the Championship this year. Secondly though, is that if he plays well down the stretch he might feel he's entitled to more money and opt out of his current contract. As good as Finley can be, he's getting up there in age and his effectiveness is lessening. I think the Spurs could snag a younger SG/SF type in draft or FA to take his spot (or they already have one in White).

I think the whole team as a whole is starting to come along and gel. I think the lineup change with Manu and Barry and Elson coming back from the injury have played a huge part in guys now starting to understand and accept their roles.

We're not counting on him to be the saviour of this team. We're just stating the fact that lately he's been playing better and hope it carries onto the playoffs.

What other choice do the Spurs have...James White?

The Spurs have to count on Finley, and the rest of their role players for that matter, to step up in order to have a chance against Dallas and Phoenix.

I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, Fin is THE TRUTH!

BTW, this is the second time in as many days that I have used the phrase "look a gift horse in the mouth"....anyone have any idea where the hell that comes from?

As horses age their teeth begin to project further forward each year and so their age can be estimated by checking how prominent the teeth are. This incidentally is also the source of another teeth/age related phrase - long in the tooth.
