NBA suspends Kobe for tonight's game vs. BucksBy Chris Sheridan
ESPN.com
The NBA is suspending Lakers guard Kobe Bryant for Wednesday night's game at Milwaukee for catching Minnesota Timberwolves guard Marko Jaric in the face Tuesday night.
Bryant
After getting his shot blocked by Jaric, Bryant flailed his arms and caught Jaric in the face with 58.7 seconds left in regulation Tuesday.
Bryant was called for a foul on the play. Bryant struck San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili in the face in similar fashion with two-tenths of a second left in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 96-94 overtime loss Jan. 28 against the Spurs.
Bryant was not called for a foul on that play, but was suspended for the Lakers' next game.
Bryant was suspended for what league disciplinarian Stu Jackson called driving "a stiff arm backward."
Chris Sheridan covers the NBA for ESPN Insider.

We all know Kobe tries to buy calls. No argument at all
But does anyone else think its strange that of all the contact that has happen this season, only Kobe has suspended for this and its happen twice?
Flailing his arms is worthy of suspension but didn't LeBron clothesline Wade a few weeks back?

For better or for worse the NBA is looking at intent as well...
I don't know if this is an explicit or implicit thing but as I know the rule, Le Bron should have been suspended as well. The only thing to separate the two incidents would be intent IMO.

Kobe should have gotten more than just a game. The guy has a record of these things after the Manu incident.

Lebron's reputation is different then Kobe's. (And I'm not talking about bias, which is probably pretty evident too, but legitimately, I'm talking about past incidents too)
The only inconsistency was that it was a clock to the head. And I think they should have taken the chance to suspend him too. But the league probably weighed in these things in favor of Lebron, t was all in natural motion, Lebron is great friends with Wade, so it hardly looked like he would hit him that hard out of frustration. And he's not Kobe.
Kobe isn't being singled out. He's gotten away with his stupid motions before, and this repeat occurrence just shows he's stupid and made a bad habit of that forearm flailing thing.
