The Spurs need an enforcer like a Malik to match up against guys like Artest, Wells, Williamson, etc. I was hoping Pop would give Ely a try since he doesn't seem to mind contact in the lane. The rest of the guys are too skinny. Maybe something to address in the off-season, along with the mythical long SF we've been waiting for all these years. I think the backup PG need has been met with Vaugh/Beno tag team combo.

Seriously. Spurs need an enforcer for matchup flexibility. Right now the closest they've got is Oberto.

Bonner wasn't bad when he came in!

Corliss is solid, but he didn't really hurt us by overpowering, just in making his shots and making some great veteran, crafty moves.

Good observation. Bonner said in the radio post-game interview he had watched Williamson for 3 quarters from the bench and noticed Williamson's outside shot wasn't falling. He was just hurting the Spurs on the inside...so Matt said he backed off and tried to take away the inside.

Agreed. I like what Bonner had to bring more than Horry or Oberto last night. Horry needs to retire. Otherwise, Spurs should cut him this offseason.

I would like to see what Ely has as the "enforcer." If the guy can get a little weight off he could be a nice matchup problem and bring a more physical presence on the low blocks. Elson is the gazelle, more nimble. Oberto plays the cleanup game and a nice two man game with Gino. Bonner is the hustler. I just don't think Horry has the game anymore, especially on the defensive end (as we see him getting burned by Corliss Fuckin' Williamson!!), and it's time to use him sparingly as an offensive threat. The guy is a nice vet presence but at this point nothing more.

To respond to the thread, no thanks on Malik. As a person who regularly watches Knick games here in NY, Malik is old, slow, and good at towel waving. Plus, he has a terrible contract that would prevent us from addressing needs at key starting positions. Non, merci!

Malik? :lmao

Malik can't get minutes on a lottery team... Sometimes i think Malik registers himself and posts some shit, so we won't forget about him. :lol
