What I really liked about the interview was that it captured Gervin's little laugh: "heh, heh, heh, heh" that he launched whenever he was going in for a score against a hapless opponent. It was a joyous sound, not a mean one, given by a player who genuinely loved to play and use his unparalelled skills.

I used to have seats down on floor level, and sometimes you could hear it above the crowd noise.

I remember at Gervin's retirement dinner, a Spur who had played against him for the NO Jazz (Paul Griffin?) recounted how he played against ICE the night he scored 63 against the Jazz to win the scoring title. He said, "I still have nightmares about Gervin's evil little laugh as he went by and around and over me for the score. It was embarrassing."

Heh, heh, heh, heh.

Pop would have shipped the Ice Man out of SA because of his defensive prowess. :lol

Ice's idea of defense was to be ready to fast break once the ball went up.

I have been trying to find a link for that poster for a couple of years now. Do you know how hard that is to find?

Coolest poster ever...thing hung on my wall for years.

do any of you guys remember that Nike poster from the late '70s called the Supreme Court with Gervin, Moses Malone, Doc, etc standing there in black robes?

That was a great story, Gervin was the master of the finger roll. I live in Austin, and luckily for me, back in November I got the opportunity to go with some people from work to go to a Toros corporate luncheon event thing. We got to meet some of the players, and also had a CEO free throw shooting contest, which was pretty funny. Anyway, the best thing about it was that Gervin was there and I got to meet the Iceman himself. I had intended to post this pic on here back when I went but this thread seems like a good place for it. Btw I am the second from the left in the pic.

That's not even the original poster.

Apparently, the original goes for $100-150.

Yes, the original wouldn't have the HoF 1996 logo, obviously, nor the fiesta colors logo.

Damn, I am such a freaking idiot for not hanging on to that stuff.

An original poster, still in the cellophane wrap according to the seller, just went for about $150 on EBAY. I dropped out of the bidding early.

A good friend of mine who had the tickets next to me for years has the original with GGs autograph framed.

I was so mad that he 0ne-upped me at the time, I wouldn't buy one. Stupid is as Stupid does. :nope
