...deserves to have his minutes increased the most

No, he's not our savior, nor will he put an end to our search for the Dirk stopper, but his hustle and knack for getting to loose balls and all the other little things that can really change a game will make him crucial in our playoff run
oh, and I was excluding Manu if only because there is a chance he may be starting come playoff time (though if it ain't broke why fix it)

Depends on the matchups.

What new player in the Pop era has warranted a minutes boost come playoff time such as the type that you are suggesting? Barring injury to another player?
I'm not trying to argue just curious how many times it has happened before.

probably not very often, but his hustle is going to be crucial for us.
Getting to the loose balls and tapping out boards to teammates are plays that don't show up in the box score.
He may not be our best defender but Bonner is almost like a mini bigman ginobili in terms of how hard he plays when he is out there.
I just hope we see a lot more of him in the playoffs and not just because of his shooting
does bonner played like that last year? I mean could it be he hustle because he's in a contract year or is he really a malik rose or more of a bonzi wells in terms of hustling?

Depends on the matchups.
I can see why you like Pop so much.

he was a HUGE fan favorite up here in Toronto
He always get an ovation when he returns
His hustle is why people appreciate him
So I'm pretty sure he hustles b/c that's how he plays as oppose to trying to land a large contract ie Bonzi Wells

So you'd have Bonner guard Yao Ming?

Depends on the matchups.
Agreed. On some of the more perimeter oriented bigs he would be an ok choice.

after seeing his D recently, I wouldn't be worried at all to put him on Dirk.
Just move quickly, stay in front, Put a hand up.
Hustle and grab boards.
Hed work good IMO.
But keep him on the damn perimiter, don't put him down low for godsake.

Pop likes to have a 3 bigs rotation and this year it seems that Duncan/Horry/Elson will be his rotation at PF/C.
Bonner should see playtime only in case of foul troubles and good matchups. If I remember well, Ludden has too said in one of his article that Pop won't stick with a vet past his prime (like Horry) if he struggles.
I think that Bonner can help Spurs against teams like Phoenix and Mavs because he is more mobile than Oberto and Horry. I especially think that he is Spurs' second best option (behind Elson) against Dirk and I hope that Pop will try to put on him on April 15th (if Dirk plays).
is it sure he's more mobile than horry? last game i saw robert moved pretty well ..maybe because his move were so much beautiful than bonner i didn't catch it..
Matt seeems faster stronger with more energy but lateral movement quickness i don't know..

Hey, he's a red-headed Manu, alright, already?!!!
Sacrifices
Throws himself into both phases of off/def
has No Fear
Make himself ready for the call as much as he can
sounds like manu wid redhair to me.........
Bonner Is Playing Well
I Think When He And Cisco Went Down It Messed Up The Spurs Chemistry

"Bonner Is Playing Well"
But Pop isn't playing him enough now. I fear he won't see much PT in the playoffs' 7- or 8-man rotation.

I dont think it depends on the matchups as much as it depends on what Oberto gives the team down the stretch. He's been a total non-factor of late, and it's not like he has size on Bonner (a legit 6'10, 250). I think Bonner's hustle and offensive threat will have him eating into Oberto's minutes into the playoffs...

If Pop will have last year strategy, more than 8 players wont play in playoffs. I dont know why pop is thinking that way, in that case Spurs wont see conf finals.
And i am sure some bench players can contribute in playoffs, not just 7or8.
