Would anyone be interested in joining if I were to set it up. I'm thinking 40 dollars per team. I'm playing around with the settings right now.

Let me know. I'd like to have at least 12 teams.

You know I will be.

Anyone want to play? I have 5 teams right now and I'd like 12 or so. I set the league up on sportsline.com.

It'll be $40 to play, and $80 of the total $480 will go towards paying for the league.

1st place will win $275. 2nd place will win $100, and 3rd place will win $25.

It's going to be a keeper league.

I will consider joining if the following are met:

1.) Since there are only 12 teams (a very small league) there are large starting lineups - at least 20.

2.) It uses a large minor league system - At least 12-15 minor leaguers to be kept outside of keepers.

3.) We keep a good percentage of our roster - at least 50%.

I am a fantasy baseball vet, hardcore over this stuff, so I am very picky.

Turambar this is the Constitution.

Constitution: 12 teams
Two divisions

Roster specifications ---
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, DH, Util, Util, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP
+ 5 bench spots
+ 5 prospect selections (they will be selected in a second draft following the major league draft) Players eligible to be listed as a prospect have to be in the minors.
+ 2 players maximum are allowed to be on the injured list, and will not count against your active roster. They must be on the MLB injured list, and must be reactivated or dropped if when they come off the injured list.

If your roster is illegal during any weekly scoring period, you will receive a 0 for that week. No exceptions.

Game
Head-to-Head
There will be Six playoff teams. The division winners and 4 wild card teams. The division winners will receive a first week bye. The playoffs will take a total of 3 weeks,

Playoff tiebreaker: In the event a playoff round ends in a tie, the team with the best reserve players' stats will advance.
If that is also a tie, we will go to the head-to-head results from the season...a combined total of the stats.
If that is a tie, we will flip a coin.

Keepers ---
Non Playoff Teams will be able to keep a total of 18 players.
3rd - 5th places will be able to keep 16 players.
2nd lpace will be able to keep 14 players.
The Champion will be able to keep 12 players.
Prospects will not count against your big league keepers if they are not on a Major League roster at the end of the season.

Prospect Players
For a player to be considered a prospect, he has to be on a Minor League roster. If they are moved up to a Major League team during the season, you must either drop a player to add them to your roster, or drop the prospect. If you drop a prospect, you can not pick up another one until the next season draft. These players WILL NOT count against your positional quotas.

The rights to prospects can be traded, but the 5 prospect limit remains in effect...so however you have to do it, whether by activating one or dropping one or trading one.....you MUST keep your prospects to 5.

DRAFT
The Draft will be Sunday March 24th @ 6 P.M. If you are not able to attend the draft live, you MUST set your draft list on the league site. You may or may not get your total of 8 Prospects selected by the Computer. If that is the case, you will be able to drop the last player the computer selected for you, and select a Prospect to replace him . The Major League Draft will be a total of 25 rounds, and it will followed by a 5 round Minor League Draft. The draft order will be selected Randomly, and will be unveiled 2 days before the draft. You can trade draft picks anytime in those 2 days, or during the draft. BUT you CAN NOT trade 2 for 1. Each team MUST get the same amount of draft picks as they are giving up.

THE INJURED LIST
Abuse of the Injured list will not be tolerated. If a player comes off the injured list, you have 5 days to take him off. I will be monitoring all lineups very closely, and will give you a warning that your 5 days may be coming up soon. If the player is not taken off the injured list he will be taken off your roster and placed into the free agent pool. There are no exceptions. Even if it is Albert Pujols.

Hey guys, a few changes.

The draft will be Sunday March 24th. The Major League Draft will be 20 rounds, and a 5 round Minor League draft will follow immediately in the League Chat room. If you can't make either one of the drafts, you will need to set up a Draft List on the site for the Major League Draft. For the Minor League draft I will be selecting your players using the Rotoworld Top 150 players list. I'm gonna go straight off the list. So no bitching.

I have 1 more spot open for a 12 team league, and 3 if we can find enough for a 14 team league. Let me know if you have anyone else that wants to join up. They don't have to pay the $40 until the All Star Break.

Joe, your friend hasn't registered yet. Is he still gonna play?

Hey guys, a few changes.

The draft will be Sunday March 24th.

Sunday is the 25th, just in case you want to clarify.

If I paid more attention to baseball these days, I'd play. But I don't. :(

Good luck to all.

Ok Guys, this is pretty much final. The draft will be on Saturday @ 1PM. We had multiple owners that couldn't do it on Sunday and some that couldn't do it Sat night, so this is the compromise. The draft order is.

1 Bexar Blaze - Joe
2 Mile High Crushers - Ken
3 Texas Venom - Keith V
4 Dio - Dio
5 McAwesome - Eriks
6 Baseball Daily - Horry for Three
7 Carlos' Team - Carlos
8 To Be Named Later - Katy
9 District Dirt Dogs - Adam
10 David Robinson is God - Jason
11 The Pinoy Pounders - Truth
12 MarroonOut - Keith H

The main draft will be 25 rounds, and the Minor league draft will follow immediately. If you can't make either draft, be sure to make a Draft List for the Major League Draft, and if you want a List for the Minor league draft to send me one via email. If you don't, I will draft your Minor players using the Rotoworld Top 150.

I like my team, pretty young and solid.

Mr Dio

I made sure and draft for the next 2-3 yrs vs this yr.
As with my Dynasty Football team, yr will be bad to avg but yrs 2-3 will be pretty good to great. Put that in ink.
I'd never been in a Dynasty/Keeper league so I made the mistake in my Dynasty Basketball league of trying to draft mainly from yr 1 on and it didn't help that I snuck into the later rounds of the playoffs and then into the championship.

My team is young and can contend. It just depends on the young players you draft. Also, living up to their potential and not getting injuries.

I was bored, so I figured out the age of your players and your players are actually a lot older than mine. If you count out the minors (which I will have to draft 4 more). You still have to retool your roster because you have 1 more minor leaguer than you are allowed and you only have 2 RP when you have to have at least 3 RP starting.

Average Batters age of your players (without minors) = 29.4
Average Batters age of your players (with minors) = 26.3
Average Pitchers age of your players = 27.8

Average Batters age of my players = 25.2
Average Pitchers age of my players (without minor) = 24.6

We are going to do the Minor League draft through email or this thread. The first pick will be Maroon Out since he had the last pick in the major league draft. I will try to get a hold of him in the next hour or so to get the pick. This is the best way that I know to make sure that everyone has input on who it is that they are going to draft. It's too hard to get everyone together on the weekend. I know that Growth Hormones has asked me to use the rotoworld draft list, since he isn't that familiar with minor league players.

Dio, you are out of minor league options. You need to get your major league roster legal before this weekend.

You CAN have more than 5 minor league players if you aquire them through trades. I'll work on getting a pick from Maroon Out before the night is over.

This is the draft order.

Maroon Out, Truth, David Robinson is God, District Dirt Dogs, Katy, Growth Hormones, Horry for three, Erik, Texas Venom, Mile High Crushers, Dio. It'll snake after each round.

Joe, can you try to get a hold of Adam to get his picks when he is up. There are no time limits. Lets just try to get it done by the time our season starts Next Monday.

TheTruth
03-25-2007, 06:33 PM
Oh, and you can't pick up a free agent player if they are in the Minor Leagues. Only players on major league rosters WHEN you pick them up are eligible. So, if there is a stud minor leaguer that isn't on someones minor league roster that gets called up, you CAN pick him up.

Mr Dio
03-25-2007, 06:53 PM
then you have the ability to start 1 more SP than any other team in the league.

So, let me make sure I have this right.

Dio, you are out of minor league options. You need to get your major league roster legal before this weekend.

That is assuming
1) None of them make 40man rosters
2) I keep all those Minor Leaguers on my roster, correct?

Loopholes.

If you don't have 5 minor leaguers by the time your pick comes around, you can make that pick. I don't see why you would want to drop any of those minor leaguers. Each one is a stud.

You going to make it where players are drafted have the "Keeper" status next to them? Because any player that is picked up from the FA list is only a FA. I can already see if some big player comes from the minors and someone gets them they will try to keep them.

Thanks. It was a fun league. I enjoyed playing in it.

Looking back, I made some sucky picks but my trades that I made during the season put me over the top.
