Last year, you said the perfect start would be 10-10

This year, would the perfect start be 16-4?

And if they can do that, imagine if they can duplicate the record the last 62 games, they can break a club record and win 63 games.

Is this a possibility?

Given the relative weakness of the Southwest Division, I think they have a shot. The Northwest Division is far and away the toughest, IMO.

How can the Northwest be tougher than the Southwest... the only "weak" team in the Southwest is New Orleans...

Seattle and Minn = Dallas and SA

Then you have Utah>>>> Houston

Blazers> Grizzlies

Nuggets>>>>Hornets

Top to bottom, NW is better than SW

I agree with Jim. He is a very smart man. I will have to remember to send him his 20 bucks now.

jimcs50, 16-4 would be great. Pop has said that the Spurs are coming out of the gates firing this season. In past years, they didn't care if they won games or not in November. Now they want to win every game all season long.

So yeah, 16-4 would be great. As long as their at least 14-6 after 20 games, they should be on track for a 60 win season.

We will find out if Blazers > Grizzlies tonight, as the play each other.

I was skeptical if a 60 win season was possible this year, given that Memphis looked like a tough team to play 4 times, but now that I see them looking like the Suns of last year, the Spurs can actually sweep them as they did in the playoffs.

I agree that this team can top the '94-'95 record at 62 wins, even though the West is better now than it was then. Even if Shaq is gone now (he wasn't around then, either).

This team will have at least 3 double-digit win streaks this year.

Finals: Spurs 4; Pistons 2

"Utah is the real mfing deal."

Jazz 92 vs Stevie/Grant 107. Kirilenko no-showed.

Dwight Howard is a hell of rebounder. Will be a real help when he learns to score.

hell no seattle isnt on our level, they are playing at a level unequal to their talent and ability, Ray Allen will not drop 40 a night, something he will need to do for the Sonics to beat the top teir teams in the west the next time around.

TPark needs to get out of the prediction business. :)

SEA's 4 or 5 3-shooters continued ability to hit 3's at league best %age, end-to-end, and in game-breaking bunches, makes them very dangerous, but they are pretty much offensive only, with no real defense to fall back when the 3's don't fall. So the key will be the Spurs playing great defense, esp in transition and on the perimeter, while having an average 96 PPG offensive game which SEA can't really stop.

How can the Northwest be tougher than the Southwest... the only "weak" team in the Southwest is New Orleans...Due to player moves and injuries and the fact that the teams are not the same as last year

" the only "weak" team in the Southwest is New Orleans..."

At this point, MEM, NO, and HOU won't make the playoffs, all way under .500, a pretty weak division vs pre-season expectations. The other 2 Western divisions each have 4 of 5 teams .500+. But we're only one month into the season.
