PREGAME

The Spurs go for their 13th victory in a row when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at the AT&T Center. Victory No. 9 in their current streak was against the Clippers eight days ago in Los Angeles.

Clippers guard Sam Cassell is inactive for tonight's game. He has been slowed by a groin strain. Melvin Ely, Jackie Butler and James White are inactive for the Spurs.

Have I mentioned how shitty the TV is in my country with no LP and one NBA game per week?

How the fuck can Direct TV not offer LP. There is no way it does not make business sense to do it with Manu's popularity running high on the gold medal and the '05 championship.

Dumbfucks!

:wtf The Spurs are frusterating the hell out of me cuz now I have to hear about this streak for another 48 hours at least. Now I am starting to see them as a serious threat to my boys and that stresses me out just a tad.

It wasn't exactly lock-down defense. The game was even except for a 7 minute stretch to close out the 2nd quarter. The Spurs played enough D during those 7 minutes to outscore LA 18-9. The Clippers won the 1st quarter and the Clippers also won the 2nd half.

Clippers shot 49%.

Milwaukee is next and they give the Spurs all kinds of trouble.

Good thing about that game-it's over and in the books!

Duncan psyched outta the game by calls, falls, and scratches to face and eye areas, took his lumps and looked subdued towards end of game

Finley played nicely out of character, left his sweat in the paint

Tony looked dissatisfied---he banged the game ball hard as he walked off the floor to lockerroom, was it because of his careless pass= points to Clips in waning moments of the game?

Bonner again showing at this point that his disrupting shots and bothering dribblers is more developed than his 3 point shooting.
Is the red-haired Manu going to get more minutes?

Elson is handling half-ass passes with too much juice alot better, he used to lose those.

Duncan's developing a nice addition to his game with his bounce passing, Vaughn to Manu bounce pass; bonafide hookup ala Argentine style, hard and quick.

Should we persue Jason Hart is Beno still remains the don't call us, we'll call you guy?

Happiness is that Spurs still took care of business, this being a medium level type game; PJ said that they called a practice to get some things communicated and to loosen up aspects/parts that were needing working out.

I'm sure it was because he got in trouble early in the third quarter (along with Barry) for f'ing up on D.

Ok, missed that one, TonyP is still looking for his rhythm on both ends then, I wonder if cause he's focusing on one aspect he does so much better when both parts of his game are evened out.

We will take it, its a W after all.

I am nervous about Milwaukee though. They always seem to shoot lights out against us for some reason.

I think he played okay defensively - but it looked like Tony and Barry got in trouble for not switching. That seemed like why they were both pulled 1 minute into the third.

Yeah, the very first play to start the 2nd half, TP and Brent handled the high screen lazily. Both at once and it led to Timmy thinking he had to help and it threw off everyone else for an easy Maggette score.

It didn't take Pop long.

Associated PressSAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Tony Parker scored 25 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Los Angeles Clippers 93-84 Tuesday night for their 13th straight victory.

Tim Duncan added 19 points, Manu Ginobili had 16 and Michael Finley contributed 13 as the Spurs completed a sweep of their four meetings with the Clippers this season.

Corey Maggette led the Clippers with 17 points, while Elton Brand had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tim Thomas had 15 points, Chris Kaman added 13 and Jason Hart contributed 10.

With the Dallas Mavericks' 17-game winning streak ending with a 117-100 loss Monday to the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio now owns the league's longest streak.

The Spurs' 46-18 record puts them 3 1/2 games behind the Phoenix Suns, who have won five in a row, for second place in the Western Conference.

The Clippers have lost four straight, including an 88-74 loss to San Antonio in Los Angeles on March 5.

Los Angeles had a one-point lead after one quarter thanks to Hart, who was 4-of-4 from the field in the period. Duncan scored 10 of his 14 first-half points in the second, and Parker added six points in the last 1:11, including a running layup with 6.8 seconds left that gave the Spurs a 50-40 halftime lead.

Maggette scored six straight Los Angeles points early in the third. Finley had eight for San Antonio, which extended its lead to 11 after three.

The Clippers got within five early in the fourth before Parker helped the Spurs pull away. Brent Barry's steal lead to Parker' layup with 5:33 left to make it 84-75. Parker added two more buckets to push the lead to 88-78.

Game notes
Clippers G Shaun Livingston underwent planned reconstructive surgery on his left knee in Birmingham, Ala., Tuesday. Livingston tore parts of his anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and lateral meniscus in a victory over Charlotte on Feb. 26. He will start two weeks of rehabilitation in Alabama before returning to Los Angeles. Livingston could be sidelined for a year or more. ... Clippers G Sam Cassell sat out Tuesday's game. ... The Spurs have won nine straight at home against the Clippers.

Pop pulling the strings and pushing the buttons again Kori.
On his postgame he was extremely adamant about letting reporters know he was unhappy with most aspects of the game. And he got beeped for saying the Fword.

Pop pissed.
Duncan getting knocked around by a variety of body parts and whistles.
Guys getting chewed out for flubbing assignments.
And the game tucked away in our pocket.
Isn't it looking and sounding familiar, somewhere in San Antonio a bell has been rung and Spurs are answering the call.
I love it!!!!!!!!

Seemed pretty legit. They actually seemed to be calling it tight at times and letting them play on occasion. No real consistency, but the important thing is that the bad calls were pretty close to being split down the middle.
