...if Golden state beat out the Clippers for the 8th spot in the West and Don Nelson got a chance to oust the Mavericks in the first round. If that happened Mark Cuban might try sanctioning the league to declare Don Nelson "illeagal". Go Warriors!

That would be pretty sweet, I dont know how well they would do, but you know it would piss off Cuban

The Warriors may own the Mavs in the regular season, but they would get destroyed in the playoffs. Quit living on Fantasy Island.

Remember when Don Nelson's Warriors beat the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs? Back when zone defenses were illeagal he pulled his center above the three point line to keep DRob out of the paint on defense. Brilliant. He's crafty and he's got the Mav's number. Stranger things have happened.

well that would be cool, but then the suns will still be in our way:lol

It's not really so much a factor of whether they're in our way. In fact I'd rather see the Spurs play them in the playoffs than see another team beat them. I just think it would be awfully humiliating for Dallas after having had such an amazing regular season, and Dallas fans are so cocky that it's always fun to imagine them being humbled.

I dont think the mavs would lose but it would not be a sweep...plus would be kinda funny for the bitch and his bitch coach to have to play against a team that knows all the plays and such

It would be nice to see the Warriors take a game or two from the Mavs in the first round, but I expect the games in Dallas to be Mav dominance.

And stupid Larry Brown didn't have enough sense to send some other player out there so David could stay in the paint. Ah, the bad old days...

Man, I do.

The best scenario, which I admit is extremely unlikely, but possible, is for the Spurs and Jazz to overtake the Suns.

1. mavs
2. Spurs
3. Jazz
4. Suns

The road to the finals for the Spurs would only include the Suns or mavs, not both. Either way the Spurs will surely be up for the challenge.

Don't get such a big boner over one regular season loss....sure they have our number during the regular season but I promise you they would never beat us in a 7 game playoff series.

Warriors play well against the Mavs but that series still would need a miracle to go even 6 games.

The Warriors can beat the Mavs in the playoffs? Wishful thinking indeed.

it'd be nice just to see the W's tire the Mavs out a little. They'd sweep a bunch of other teams.

they were taken for granted but Golden State managed to spoil Dallas night not only once but twice this season during the flag WC Chumps flag-raising ceremony & ended their W streak only tying the the Suns' 17 which could have been this season's longest winning streak.

but, but i doubt it if GS can eliminate by Dallas in the playoffs if they meet. Unless of course Dirk or Howard suffers an injury. But it happened before which team was it-NY? who knows?

Don't forget the first GS win was when the Mavs were struggling ... and the other after Dallas had blown out long-time nemesis LAL in LA.

Nelson would do no more than win a playoff game or two with his unconvential BS trickery. AJ has seen it before and is too smart to fall into that trap for more than that.

Not at all. The best matchup would feature Utah or Houston in the 4th spot and the SUns in the 3. The Jazz and the Rockets match up really well vs. Dallas, the Suns don't. We can beat the suns much more easily than we can beat the Jazz or the Rockets.

Actaully I look forward to that annual Cuban "Has anybody got a razor, I need to slit my throat" look.

If the warriors sneek in and play the mavs....the Mavs would win in 5. Playoffs are a different animal and the Mavs have the experience to survive any Don Nelson shenanigans. I remember the lakers met a team in the first round during their 3 peat that they lost 3/4 reg games and swept them....forget which team though.

I'd expect something similar to the Spurs/Kings last year in the 1st round. with the Warriors winning 2 games then the Mavs taking them out in 6
